Torn between Two

What have I done?!?

What have I done?!?

Noooo, Sanem!!

With the rifle still in his hands, 

internally his thoughts were shouting at him,

he looked at the rifle for a second and threw it away angerly.

Now he could only stare down at Sanem and thought again.

What have I done?!?

Can looked at her beautiful face, 

all he wanted now was to see 

those stunning expressive eyes of hers again

however.....he couldn't, her beautiful eyes were closed.


Can fell down on his knees, tears were flowing over his face,

When he made the decision to shoot he was....... 

Torn between Two,

Torn between anger and happiness, 

Torn between reason and unreason,

Torn between past love and.....present love.

All of this went flashing through his mind in a millisecond, 

all these feelings and thoughts and then he knew it, 

he felt it.......what he had to do,

yes, Sanem might feel responsible 

but to be the one who had killed his beloved

.....no way, not his Sanem, not his magical being.

She may be part animal, a predator however he just knew

she couldn't kill a human, he just knew it, his gut told him.

Maybe feeling responsible but to actually kill........NO!

Can had been Torn between Two.

Torn between listening to his gut 

and to just assume.

So when he fired, he fired the shot into the sky,

just over Sanem's head and now he was beating himself up 

that it had been too close to her gorgeous face.

With that and all the subdued emotions from the past year, 

that he himself had pointed a rifle at a human,

he had shot her already once, all these things combined,

it got to him, that was why the tears were flowing.

Can himself went now down sitting on his knees,

opposite from Sanem, again looking at her, 

gently he covered with his hands her hands,

laying them over hers. 

Sanem had dropped down onto her knees 

and was holding her hands over her ears, 

the gunshot might be in the air but it was close 

and with her animal hearing it was so close to her ears 

that she couldn't hear anything at the moment.
