30. One Assassin, One Blanket and a Pile of Clothes

The rustling of bushes shock me awake. I quickly turn to locate the source of the sound. Thinking it could be an attack I quickly grab a stick for defence, there wasn't much else around. I was about to spring into action when a hare hopped out from the bushes, I sigh and lie back down, only to feel the presence beside me, the cold on my bare skin.

I was still in the forest, Knox was still beside me, and we had sex last night. Holy fuck- we had sex last night. This wasn't good, this really wasn't good.

There's no way I did that. I have to kill him before we go back to school! I had sex with a target! Wouldn't be the first time.

I needed to get out of here, and fast!

Luckily, there is a good and a bad thing. The good thing being that the sun has fully risen so I no longer have to be in this forest with Knox, the bad thing however, is that the sun has fully risen, so Romave would awake soon.

I quickly get out from the blanket and rush towards the rock that we had put our wet clothes out the dry, realising I had thrown my lingerie into the forest during- doesn't matter- I rush to search the bush.

I give up after two minutes of searching the forest for my bra and underwear, I can't risk him waking up to see me. I decide to just grab his shirt and run back to camp, my cargo pants would hurt without underwear and my top was too tight to not wear a bra with, my nipples would poke through, especially in this cold.

Leaving everything else behind I run towards the camp. I'll admit, it probably would've been smart if I had taken the time to put some shoes on, because by this point I've stepped on hundreds of rocks and pointed sticks. But I don't care, I needed to get out of there.

I barge through my door and come to an abrupt stop, sitting on the edge of my bed was Val.

"I heard you had been forced to stay the night at the forest with Knox, thought I'd wait to see if you were alive. Mind telling me why you thought jumping off a fucking cliff was a good idea?!"

"Umm. . . well- I-" I try to figure out the words to say as her eyes look me over, they shine with amusement.

"You know the teacher had said it was a punishment, but to me it doesn't seem that way," she raises her brow in question.

"Well we were soaking wet from jumping in the water and it was so cold, so we had decided to remove our wet clothes," I realise my mistake and quickly add, "but we left our underwear on!"

"So your telling me, that you," she points at me, "and Knox," she points towards his cabin. "Have slept, alone, together, under the single blanket I know you were given, in the cold."

"Uh, yes?" I try to give her a smile, but it's definitely wonky.

"Oh cut the bullshit!" She stands up and marches towards me. "Ok, if that's true then why aren't you wearing a bra, and I've got a good guess as to say that you aren't wearing your underwear either!"

"I took them off before I came here because I can't wear the same wet underwear for that long, I'll get a UTI!"

"Tell me the fucking truth! Stop lying to me! You never lie to me!"

"Fine! You want to know the truth? I'll tell you the fucking truth!" I take a large inhale of breath, "We slept together. Yep, I slept with a target!"

She steps back and looks at me shocked, "You had sex with him? In a forest? Did you use protection?" She questions and I scowl.

"Yes we used protection," I sigh, not wanting to talk about it. "I always keep one in my pocket, you know that!" She knows that because she's the one who makes me do that!
