I kick a stone, dirt flying up with it as the light starts to dull. The bright pinks and oranges fade away, leaving behind only darkness.
"Thanks a lot dipshit! Look at what you've done now!" I throw my arms out in gesture to the forest.
"Me, my fault? It's your fault!" He paces towards me with his fists clenched and his eyebrows furrowed.
"How the fuck is it my fault?! You were trying to kill me!" I also take a couple steps forward, teeth clenching.
"You're the idiot who decided to nose-dive off a cliff!"
"Well you didn't think it was such a bad idea when you followed me down!"
We get closer and closer.
"I had no choice! I had to make sure you-" he suddenly cuts himself short as he rubs his temples and sighs.
"You needed to what? Make sure I was dead? Make sure I was ok?" I snarl with a scoff.
"If you think I care that you were ok, then you are sorely mistaken. I figured the fact I had been chasing you with your knife strapped to my belt made that pretty fucking obvious!" He retorts, his words drenching with sarcasm. "Listen here trouble."
I had barely registered the bark digging into my back as his chest pins me against the wall. His breath smokes as the temperature once again lowers with the sun, falling upon my nose.
"You can never escape me. If you think you can, you're wrong.
"Because if you jump off a cliff, I'll follow with a knife."
The thrumming of my heart fills my ears, blinking out all other sounds, except his voice.
"If you stab me, I'll return the favour."
I no longer feel the bite of the cold, as my temperature rises.
"And if you kiss me, " he moves in close to my ear, "I'll force it deeper."
His breath tickles my throat as I subconsciously tilt my head back, laying it out for him.
But he doesn't move, not forward nor back. He simply stills, waiting. What are you waiting for! I want to scream in his face.
I'm weak! And I'm useless. I can't control myself! I no longer hold the reigns to my body, to my emotions. So what are you waiting for.
I wanna burst at him. I wanna scream. I want to let it all out! The pressure is building inside of me, weighing me down.
But he doesn't move.
I pull my head forward and glare into his eyes, what is it?! They scream.
He only stares back, with just as much intensity. Lust swirls in his eyes, if only for a second.
And then they're gone. He turns away, pushing himself from the tree and faces out to the cliff. The sun has fully set now, the moonlight hovers around his silhouette.
I don't say anything as I turn to find a good place to sleep, the staff had come by as the teacher had left and dropped off a blanket.
As I turn around a big oak tree, I spot a nice place. Pulling the blanket off of my shoulder, I flatten it out over the emerald moss. As I'm fixing it up and laying it flat, I feel his presence walk up behind me.
"What are you doing?" He questions.
"What does it look like? I'm setting up my bed for the night."
"I'm not sleeping there!"
