"So. . . what do we do now?" I pull away."Well I should probably tell Lorenzo that I'm not doing the assassination," he shrugs.
"You can't do that! If he knows you're with me he will kill you!"
"Maybe," I look at him with my jaw dropped, "But people are always trying to kill me, aren't they?" He looks to me with his brow raised.
"That's different! They aren't the leaders of a mafia!" Is he insane? He will send dozens of members after him!
"I'll just do what your doing, he still hasn't killed you yet, even though he knows where you are."
"That's a completely different situation Romave!" I get up off the bed and begin pacing, he looks up at me from the bed.
"Hey, calm down. What I'm trying to say, is that my life has always been in danger, if I can escape it then, I can escape it now. I've just added a new player to the game, that's all."
"And that's supposed to reassure me?!" I stop pacing for a second just to stare at him.
"Just." He pulls me by the waist onto his lap and brushes my hair with his hand, "stop."
"I can't Romave. I'm worried. I can't loose you. You, Val and the twins are all I have," I rest my head on his chest.
He suddenly stops his hand movement and I look up at him to see what's wrong. He looks down at me, eyes lit by the moonlight.
"I'm scared too trouble, I always am with you." He whispers into my ear. "Come on, it's getting late, you should go to bed."
He lets go of me and places me to the side as he gets up, he starts walking towards the door.
"Wait," I whisper.
He stops and looks over his shoulder.
"Stay?"
********
This morning when I wake up to his presence beside me, I don't run. Instead, I do the opposite.
I snuggle closer into his warm embrace as his arms wrap around my chest and his head lays in the crook of my neck.
With the smell of morning dew and the orange haze through the window with Romave beside me, I don't think it can get much better than this. In fact, I think I could get used to this.
A groaning Knox pulls my waist to face me towards him, I chuckle a little at his frown.
"Well good morning to you too," I smile, I actually smile.
"Morning trouble," he grins at me.
"What are you-" he crushes me further into his body - if that is even possible - before locking one hand around my waist and sliding the other down to my ass. He pinches it, not very lightly either. "Romave!" I chastise.
I glare at him, but his smile just brightens and I swear I melt when he pulls me to him.
I break away from the kiss, "What was that for?" I tease.
"I already told you last night, I will never get enough of you."
"You should probably head back to your cabin, it's almost breakfast," I start to pull away.
"But my breakfast is right here," he pulls me back.
"Romave," I warn.
"Fine," he groans, but he still doesn't release me so I push him away, he falls to the floor with a thud. "Was that really necessary?" His head peaks up from the floor, over the mattress as he rubs the back of his head.
