"Small Realisation"
He wanted answers for the questions he couldn't form, he wanted a solution for the problem he couldn't name. He never felt this confused in his life. He was always a person who plan and proceed in everything. But this time it felt there's something ahead which isn't planned.
Feeling restless, he ran to Sumi's room and saw her reading a book sitting on the couch.
"Maa", mahir called out
"Arre mahir, come", Sumi said smiling
He came and laid his head on her lap while Sumi softly caressed his hair.
"What's the matter mahir?", Sumi asked
"How do you know maa?", Mahir asked
"I'm your mother mahir, won't I know if you are upset?", Sumi asked
"I feel restless maa, like as if I may loose something soon", mahir said stammering
"Tell me what's in your heart mahir", Sumi asked worried
"I don't know maa, is my decision of marrying Anu correct?", Mahir finally asked
"And do you think it's wrong now?", Sumi asked back
"Not exactly maa, but I wanna be sure of it", mahir said
"To be honest mahir, I din't want you to marry Anu", Sumi spitted out
"What, why?", Asked mahir getting up from her lap
"Coz I feel she's isn't the one for you mahir, neither the perfect daughter-in-law to this house", Sumi said sadly
"But maa why din't you tell before?", Mahir asked
"Coz even being your mother I can't force you to do anything mahir, I know Anu loves you but I also know that you don't feel anything for her.. or I even doubt you would feel something in the coming future.
But all you care about is business, is it? When Mrs. Mittal came with an offer for marrying Anu you without even asking me said yes, and what would I do mahir? Din't I try telling you to think of it again? But again you shrug it saying the deal is important", Sumi said sternly
"So you think I shouldn't do this?", Mahir asked
"First tell me why are you asking all this all of a sudden", Sumi asked
"I don't know maa", said Mahir confused and got up to go
"Mahir wait, I know what's going on in your mind.. but unless you are sure of your feelings for her don't take a step mahir", Sumi said understanding
"Maa even you think that I..", mahir tried to say
"It's not about what I think mahir, it's the truth that you feel something for her.. and you know whom I'm talking about. But it's better you realise what your feel before it's too late", Sumi said
"Bela told me everything what happened near Pune Mahir, I'm sure if it was someone else you wouldn't have done all that for her.. you agreed to help an unknown girl just because of Bela, did you ever think why?
I have seen a new version of you everytime she's around you mahir, don't loose her.. I know everything happened between you both since the first day, she's that person you will ever need in your life", Sumi continued
