The enemy started firing flamed arrows into the pit they had predug, setting the whole thing on fire. However, they heard no battle screams or crys. Nothing of the sort. As they were all asking themsleves the same questions, they spotted a black flare in the air.

"What is going on?"

The commander of the squad asked his men. Before he could get an explanation, scout soldiers emerged from both east and west.

"I thought you burnt the bastards?!"

His men were just as clueless as he was.

"Sir we're getting slaughtered by the second!! What are your orders?!"

The soldiers started panicking. Panicking while in battle was never good. The Commander had no plan himself and wasn't a good on the spot thinker like Erwin.

"Retreat my men! We'll live to fight another day"

He shouted, and that's exactly what everyone did. What they tried to. As soon as they turned around, they realised the enemy had blocked of all paths of retreat. They couldn't head south either because of their failed plan to burn the opposition. It was just a huge uncross-able flame pit. They had been cornered. Were they to get slaughtered or forfeit and accept defeat?

After sending the horse, Erwin made his way to the other side of the battle field. When he had arrived, his plan succeeded and the enemy were now cornered with only 2 options. Throw in the towel or be killed.
The battle had come to a stop and each side awaited eachothers next moves. As Erwin rode forward, his soldiers cleared a path for him.

"Commander Eiger, what will you do now?"

He already knew the outcome of this battle.

"I- I surrender..."

Eiger raised one hand. What Erwin hadn't seen was him reaching for his knife behind his back.

"In death!"

He jumped forward to slash Erwin's face, however an arrow made contact with his hand before he could get anywhere near Erwin.

"Seize him at once!"

Levi instructed his men to act quick, he didn't want to give the opposition anymore freedom. Erwin on the other hand, darted his eyes around to find the archer who shot the arrow. Hange saw him desperately looking for something.

"Anything the matter?"

She asked pulling Erwin out of his search.

"No. Nothings wrong"

His answer didn't convinc Hange much but she let him be. Erwin diverted his attention back to the issue at hand. He noticed all the opposition soldiers kneeling. Every solider knew the rules, you loose you serve. Eiger's men were now Erwin's.

While he was tying up Eiger, something in the corner of Levi's eyes caught his attention.

"Why the fuck are the Military Police here?"

Levi, as well as almost everyone in the survey corps, disliked the M.P.
Erwin turned to where Levi was looking to see if what he said was true. Nile was indeed making his way over.

"Commander Nile. I assume you must have something importantly urgent for you to leave the King's side and come out here"

Erwin stated professionally. He hadn't really taken a liking to the Military Police's Commander but he wasn't going to show it.

"Important indeed"

He said as he stepped aside to reveal a hidden figure with their hands up. Erwin saw the armoured black horse next to them and knew what had happened.
