It's been two long years so thank you all for being so patient. There isn't much left so I hope for your continued support as I write the final chapters for this book
____________________Racing time on horseback, y/n continued to follow her internal link towards Seru. The journey was long so whenever they weren't on the move, she kept up with her water training. It'd been 4 days since the pair took off in search for the spirit and though hope slolwy dwindled, every stride Narsis took, the link grew stronger telling them they were closer. Y/n knew the hunt would end today.
what is with you guys and caves
Coming to a slow halt, the pair found themsleves in an isolated mountain side. Just ahead was a cave that y/n felt pulled towards. She thought things ironic seeing as she'd found Beru in a cave more than a week ago.
the darkness is therapeutic
Beru didn't joke, beasts typically lived in dark places - never being fond of the light. Despite being a human torch himself, he too preferred the dark.
Rubbing the side of Narsis, y/n let herself down so she could kneel and place her hands on the floor. She closed her eyes and let her hands connect to the soil below through her fingertips - something Nanami had taught her. Taking it further, she opened her eyes that now shone red and allowed her to see all thermal and infrared radiation.
Beasts were spiritual, y/n knew their heat couldn't be sensed so she was looking for any sign of humans.
When nothing showed up, she deemed the cave empty and stood up to take a hold of Narsis' reigns.where'd you ever learn that one?
Beru was impressed.
Ken
Y/n would've felt proud if the mention of his name alone didn't remind her of his fate. Now in low hopes, she entered the cave, a flame lit in the palm of her hand. From the empty camps, she knew the enemy had already fled quite some time ago. As she looked around at the abandoned utility shelters and sword manufacturers, y/n felt a sudden gravitational pull to her left - her feet subconsciously dragging her deeper into the tunnels.
he's here, Seru
The two soon found themsleves infront a pair of large dungeon doors. She expected some sort of mechanism holding them locked but the second she touched them, they invited her in. Despite the bright flame she held, it was dark at every corner y/n looked in. The sound of grunting and chains shaking drew her attention right. She ever so faintly made out a figure. With much concern y/n approached it.
stop
Her feet stuck like glue to the ground beneath. This wasn't beru in her head.
come any closer and I'll kill you
The voice threatened but Beru manifested himself and lit the room ablaze. He called the bluff and was right. Infront of them laid the beaten, bruised, and tortured state of Seru chained in all sorts of ways. His wings had been clipped, his rough skin missing scales and his tail cut off. But none of his injuries took away from the shear size of the beast, y/n couldn't believe he was chained like a rabid dog.
"Look at the state of yourself"
As angry as he still was, such a sight of his brother pained him. Those responsible were going to atone with their lives he was certain.
Seru grunted as he turned his head in shame.you shouldn't have brought her here
"If it were up to me, neither of us would be here"
Their eyes landed on y/n who had been awfully quiet for the one who set out on this task. She stepped closer to Seru who was now on edge but saw this coming. He closed his eyes and accepted his fate.
