"That's it, higher"

Y/n kept her eyes on the water that grew taller as she raised her hands while remaining in control. It was a little tasking at first but now came natural.

"Freeze it"

And it was frozen, the ice wall now separating her and Beru.

"Now melt it"

Y/n went to use her fire but stopped feeling a shock through her body, courtesy of Beru.

right, I'm just handling water

"I shouldn't have to tell you, you're better than that"

Y/n agreed as she knew something was bothering her. Something beyond Erwin, no, she hadn't given him much thought.

"I just....can't stop thinking about Seru. My connection to him has only been feeling weaker as the days go on"

Beru had given y/n a little insight about her mother's beast. He knew what was going on but ignored her. He didn't care about his brother and wasn't going to start now. He'd be dammed to waste his energy on someone who abandoned him and everyone he loved. Regardless of the reason.

I won't shed a single tear

Y/n walked over to Beru and placed a hand on what she considered to be his shoulder.

"He's fading Beru, he's dying. If we don't save him, no one will"

Again, the spirit ignored her.

"Do you know where we are right now?"

Letting go of his shoulder, she shook her head. Though Beru had tried to briefly explain the moment they arrived, y/n was unaware of many things and still had many unanswered questions.

The spirit lifted his hands up and slolwy lowered them which brought down the illusion which y/n thought to have been real. Once reality become seen, she almost held her breath at the horrific sight.

"This...this is my home. Reduced to a graveyard for my brothers and sisters"

It was a dark scene. Withered flowers and broken monuments with massive glass boxes just above. What was inside them brought sadness to y/n.

what happened here?

"One of us denied the human they were assigned to. As a result, the human's body became cancerous and so the High Court ruled to exile the beast. He didn't like that, no one would but he didn't want to go quitely no. He waged an all out war against us"

Y/n was confused by the logistics. It didn't seem possible.

"One beast...? Against you all?"

surely he'd be out numbered

"Not at all. He was the best, the greatest of us. That's why it took a while for the court's decision. He ended up wiping out everyone who was here at the time. When those who were away came back, they were alone, Lost. There was nothing left for them to return to"

Y/n took another look around and felt pained at the many glass domes for miles, the beasts inside frozen along with their human's. Waiting to answer her unvoiced questions, Beru teleported the two infront of a specific dome.

"Why this one?"

All it took was one head turn for her to understand. Y/n slolwy stepped closer, her heart threatening to break when the solid wall blocked her from holding what was inside.
