In her spare time, y/n liked to do a lot of productive things and she was trying to do one of them right now.

"Why can't I fall asleep?"

Sleep had never treated y/n well. Despite her energy in the day, she could never sleep long hours at night, especially just after a battle. All those lost to her hands would pop up in her head and in her dreams. She didn't particular care for who they were but they once had families. Once loved, laughed and cried. Just like her. So she'd always say a prayer for them before and after a battle. The prayers did never seem to rid her of the haunting but it was a price she'd be willing to pay anyday. For her mother.

It was around 2am and she'd been tossing and turning since she came back empty-handed from Erwin's office. Getting up, y/n took a look at her schedule. Her first lesson was Physical training that started at 9:00 am.

"Plenty of time"

She did her morning routine which consisted of brushing her teeth, showering and deciding what hair style she'd wear that would be concealed with her hood anyway. She double checked if she'd wore the right uniform before quietly leaving her room. Y/n was fully aware of the curfews here as Hange had informed but she wasn't going to let these rules dictate her life.

When she reached the barns, she walked up to Narsis who was awake.

"Yeah, I'm having trouble sleeping too. Remember when I said I'd make it up to you?"

So no creaking was heard, y/n opened his door quickly and took hold of his reins. Upon hearing light footsteps, she paused her actions, closed her eyes and listened to find another breathing pattern other than her own.

"I know you're there. I'd rather not waste my time playing hide and seek"

A small man came in from behind the door. Y/n opened her eyes to see who had been following her.

"What the fuck do you want?"

Her question was asked with hostility as she remembered the way he acted towards her.

"You'll adress me as Captain"

The pair just stood and glared at eachother.

"Captain my fucking ass"

She double checked Narsis' reigns.

"If you're planning on making a run for it, you won't make it fourty meteres with no weapons"

Y/n hopped on Narsis.

"Don't shit your pants short stack, I can defend myself without weapons. We'll see if you can do the same"

She surprisingly reassured the man behind her of her definite return.

"You'll be punished for this you know"

Y/n knew she'd be braking protocol by going out unaccompanied on horse but she didn't care. It was one of the only ways to empty her head and relax.

"Get some sleep, you look like shit"

She turned and rode off. Y/n had intended for her words to come off rudely but they didn't. Levi rarely got any sleep due to his isomnia and she could tell just by looking at him.

"As if I haven't tried to"

He spoke to himself as he walked back to his room. This mystery soldier was proving to be more difficult to handle than he had anticipated. Intimidation wasn't working, what would.

"What's got you in thought?"

Hange appeared from nowhere making Levi hit her.
