ubbing her eyes open, y/n woke up and soon realised Erwin was gone from the note he left on a tray filled with breakfast.
I couldn't bring myself to wake you up so I'd be happy for you to take the day off and sleep in however long you need. There's a spare toothbrush in my bathroom incase you can't make it to yours. I washed your clothes and they should be on this desk. See you soon, I love you.
Y/n scoffed and pushed herself up off the bed to prove him wrong but the moment she stood up, pain shot through her thighs causing her to sit back down. With a sigh, she slightly shook her head at how she was going to explain missing training. She read the letter again.
I love you
Her heart rippled as a small smile tugged at her lips. Y/n looked down at herself to see she was wearing one of Erwin's shirts which was quite oversized on her.
Knowing there wasn't much to do until she could walk, y/n looked to Erwin's bookshelf and recognised the familar unreadable book. She stretched out her arm and picked it up before opening it with high hopes. Y/n was soon dissapointed seeing it as blank as before.
Am I missing something?
M'lady, you can have sex with the Commander but not admit you love him?
Y/n grew quiet with disbelief at Beru. She simply thought of the Commander and again looked at the first blank page of the book. As the burning sensation returned to her eyes, the ink written words slowly became visible.
bingo
Starting from the first line, y/n read through the pages in great detail making sure to not miss a single word. This was a book written by her ancestors so it had nothing but her full attention.
Each page told a different tale but they all shared a common detail. The tales were centered around one child, a girl. They began to feel similar to y/n and she thought it all to be coincidental untill she read of the Black Burnout. The whole book seemed to have been a timeline of the events in her life. It didn't make sense to y/n as Erwin had received the book many years ago yet it dated up till quite recently. Taking in the state of the pages, it wasn't hard to tell the book was hundreds of years old.
this isn't a timeline....it's a prophecy
In denial at the conclusion about herself that she came to, y/n re-read the pages countless times not wanting to come to terms with the future events that were to come.
Still in dissent with shaky hands, y/n continued to read. Every page from then on was turned with tear drops that evaporated immediately. She now knew whatever the book prophesied was to come to reality and so her tears wouldn't stop falling. Her heart felt tight asif it would break any given moment now. On top of what was written, the book wasn't thick at all meaning only one thing.
Reaching what seemed to be end, y/n sat speechless, simply staring blankly at the few empty pages that ended the story. Now with very little love in her heart, y/n's eyes returned to normal and the ink left the paper sheets. It was alot to process yet nothing was turning the clogs in her head. All her body could do was give out the aptitude response of crying, but her mind was near blank. She understood the severity of the situation but nothing seemed real. She didn't know if she was crying because she was sad or angry. Nothing made sense.
