Waking up with a leg cramp, y/n stayed in bed until it let up a few minutes later. She got out and took a shower before continuing with her morning routine. It was fairly close to sunrise so she had around a half hour but Levi insisted they all met 20 minutes prior.
he's definitely a premature born child
After double checking all the straps and making sure the gas levels in her ODM gear were maxed, y/n put her hood up and decided to pop to Erwin's office. She knocked, and like expected, it opened a few seconds later. Though he had woken up an hour ago and was fully dressed, life only now grew in his eyes that were still a little droopy until he caught sight of y/n. A few strands of hair fell from the rest that were gelled.
"Good morning"
His voice was still a little husky.
"Mornin', Commander"
She took a lengthy look at him before lowly whistling as he stepped out and closed the door behind him, his cheeks feeling a little hot.
"Look at what you've done to me. Taking my own title as a compliment and begging to hear it from your lips"
Hearing y/n use his title still sent a weird flutter in Erwin's heart. It never did stop for him.
Y/n reached for his face and pushed back his fallen strands of hair so it no longer looked messy. She noticed how he began walking to try hide his flushed face."Cute"
Ignoring her comment that only reddened his cheeks, he lead the way to where the horses were kept. Once they got there, y/n suited up Narsis and watched Erwin simply put a saddle on 'his' horse. The Commander noticed the judgmental look he received.
"The horse won't come back alive"
because you just put a damn saddle on it??
"Mine will"
The disgust in y/n's eyes was replaced with sympathy and regret once she remembered what had happened to Aroura. She immediately restrained herself from saying anything else that could possibly be insensitive. Erwin stopped to think about his entire life over the slight indirect mention of his previous horse.
"It's me, I'm the problem. Whoever I get involved with seems to d-"
"Shh, do you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
She tightened the last strap of armour on Narsis and held out his reigns to Erwin.
"Utter ballshit. Give me that horse and take Narsis"
He blinked in disbelief. Was she really handing him Narsis? She trusted him that much? He reached out before letting his hand drop back by his side.
"No, you just shouldn't trust someone like me with your horse"
"Do you really think I believe those silly rumours about you"
"I don't....you don't?"
Erwin was still a little suprised. A lot of people judged him from what was spoken around of him. Needless to say, none of those conversations praised the Commander. But y/n raised an eyebrow at his confused tone.
"People do?"
She opened Erwin's hand and placed the reigns inside before closing it.
"The last thing on his mind is dying, right Narsis?"
The horse neighed in agreement.
"Have a little faith in him"
Y/n took the brown horse but it immediately stood on it's hind legs. Erwin was worried it would hurt her.
