Chapter 8 - Tasks

When Alejus kissed me, I felt something unusual. I didn't respond at first but he insisted the kiss so I kissed him back passionately. Allowing him to explore my lips and my mouth as we savore each other.

This is bad, Johanna.

Although my mind speaks about after this kissing, my body contradicts. His sweet lips made me want more of him.

I surrendered and gasp for air as I broke from him. I looked down not to meet his gaze. His sparkling eyes are so damn hot and he looks so cared for me.

"I... I'm sorry, Alejus. This shouldn't be happening. That rule is written." I apologized not looking to him but instead I look around the house, looking for Plinth.

He didn't speak and he just stood up straight.

"I made the rules and it's my duty to override it." He simply says it formally.

Hindi ako umimik sa sinabi niya. Still confused on what he's trying to deliver. Silence surrounds the living room until nano-drones arrived.

"Alejus, Subject Five's tests will begin in ten minutes." Plinth's voice surrounds the room and I glanced at him.

We looked at each other until he swallowed.

"You can begin your tests and tasks, Plinth will guide you. Finish all the tests and when you're done, meet me at the lab."

"O-Okay..."

We suddenly stare at each other that made me intimidated. I came to look at his now pinkish lips.

Oh, damn it Johanna. Tigilan mo na ang pantasya mo sa kanya dahil may girlfriend na siya.

That's what my mind says as he walks out the living room. Sumunod ako sa drones ni Plinth at pumasok kami sa isang room na walang kalaman-laman.

I can't stop thinking about his lips and how we kissed. His lips feels like heaven and... and I feel something so unusual. I can't explain it but I love being kissed by him.

Stop it. I need to focus. There's a rule na kapag hindi ko tinapos ito, hindi ako babayadan straight on my bank account and partial lang for this day.

I came here because I need money, not to flirt with him.

Plinth guided me through the tests instructions. Ang kaninang room na walang laman ay nalagyan ng holographic images as well as videos all about my tests. Nagkaroon din ng upuan sa gitna nito.

"Plinth?"

Since I'm bored and now nangangapa sa isasagot ko sa tests ay maganda sigurong kausapin muna ang AI na laging nandito sa bahay niya.

"Yes, Subject Five?"

He began communicating with me. Akala ko si Alejus or Annie lang ang kinakausap niya.

"Why are we doing this?" I came to asks.

Bakit nga ba lagi siya ang kasama ko sa mga tests at hindi si Alejus? And the tasks too, Plinth is always here for me.

"Because Alejus chose you to take the tests and all the tasks for his project."

Umayos ako ng upo at tinignan siya. Nasa gilid siya ngayon ng room, watching me taking the tests.

"And what about his project? Can you give me the details about it?"

I've finished the tests without notifying Plinth. I just want to ask more questions about this contract.
