21. Betrayed

Chapter 21 - Betrayed

The moment I heard about Jonathan being her brother shattered my world and it's shattered more when she accused me of killing him. I never thought all of these for happening.

I think my world is sinking seeing her in a blank face, not even minding me anymore and of course accusing me for killing his brother.

"Johanna you're wrong, we didn't kill them." My sister stood up and walks towards her.

"No, I have proofs." She shrugs and showed us the flash drive she's been holding. "From the moment I step into your house, I searched for this. I wanted to avenge the death of my brother and now that I have it. The contract's done right and so am I with you too."

She looked at me and waited for my response.

I can't even think how I'm gonna react now that I'm seeing her like this. She's no Johanna to me.

"Johanna, please don't do this. We have lawyers against you if you continue what you're thinking." I beg.

I know that it sounds desperate but the company's reputation will be damage and so as our programs.

"Meet me in the court then, I will leaked all of your wrong doings instead. Law for law." She chuckled.

Halos gumuho ang mundo ko sa narinig. She have no idea what she's talking about.

"Johanna, please." Siara begged too.

Nilapitan ko siya at hahawakan ko sana ang kamay niya pero inilayo niya lang ito. She's not looking at me too. Iniba niya ang tingin niya nang magkalapit na ang mukha namin sa isa't-isa.

"Please don't do this Johanna. I know it sounds so desperate but please don't do this to me. Just for me, Johanna. You love me right?"

My heart's been aching pumping so fast waiting for her to speak. She looks away and held me the Macbook that I gave her.

"Thanks for this Alejus. It helped my investigation for the death of my brother as well as being your spy."

Mas lalo akong nasaktan nang ibalik niya sa akin. All of the programs I have are in her Macbook. Kaya siguro niya dinala 'yon sa staycation namin.

I felt my tears around the corner of my eyes. I'm holding it back.

This hurts more than a break up.

She stole all of my programs about Plinth to transfer all the details to our rival company that she's been working with, she extracted my deep dark files where I stored the data of my past Subjects, she even have videos about Subject's termination as well as the copies of their contracts. She knew since then what we're working on and now she's using it to blackmail us.

Now I understand why she volunteered for my last Subject because of her hidden plan.

It sounds really horrible like we're actually in a movie, but god! This is all happening.

I looked at her after I scan the Macbook and throw it on the couch.

"Is that all your plan huh? To let us down?" I ask.

Now my voice is shaking. I don't even know what I'm feeling now. Mixed anger, disappointment, broken, denial, and the feeling of betrayed.

She didn't hesitate to answer me, instead she started walking away.

I didn't lock the door, so I watched her left me without a word.
