I stared at my screen in shock, that slowly transformed into a smile and erupted in shouts and scream of bliss and happiness. My prayers were answered. I wasn't alone. I jumped up and down and thanked the deity that answered my prayer or the demon, matter of fact.  I clicked on the video and watched the thing intensely.

On my screen appeared a boy. He looked quite tall, he was blonde and had piercing blue eyes that seemed to stare into my soul. He looked exhausted as well with dark markings under his eyes. He experienced the same thing as I did. He probably lost all of his friends and family so suddenly he didn't have time to digest what had happened that he needed to pull himself together to survive.

He looked awfully familiar.

"Hi (y/n), thank you for your video, you have no idea how I feel after hearing your voice. I missed human interaction so much. And I also started to loose hope as I was going to die alone as I have no one else. No friends and no family here with me. I'm completely cut off from everything. Thank you for saving me and giving me hope. I wish and pray that this video reaches you in time." He rubbed his eyes with bottom of his palm and sighed loudly, " I don't know what I'll do if I never hear back from you again."

"I live in Switzerland, so I wish you live near here, I'll give you my address if you respond, and maybe we could see each other and enjoy our companies while we wait for the inevitable." Wait did he live in Switzerland? Oh my... I couldn't believe my ears. We were in the same country. I punched the air in excitement and yelled in joy. I was grinning ear to ear, and played the rest of the video.

I think I've seen that face before...

"So yeah, that's all I can get myself to say right now. Mick Schumacher, at your disposition." He smiled and stopped the recording. My mouth fell open and my breath hitched. I was alone with Mick Schumacher. A  fucking formula one pilot.

"Hello Mick, I knew I saw your face somewhere, I'm quite the F1 fan myself, although I'm more of a Mercedes fan haha." I wore my Lewis Hamilton Mercedes hoodie just to spite him, but I felt so relieved and so happy to see that I wasn't alone anymore and even better he lived in the same country as I did.

"When you told me you lived in Switzerland, I think I went under cardiac arrest. I live here too. Hopefully to see you it won't take that long of a drive. I counted and we have approximately one month before everything erupts in chaos, and a week before there's no more electrical power. So hopefully you see this soon. I actually cannot wait to see you Mick. Thank you for answering my call, I thought I lost all hope, but you're heaven sent. Thanks Mick, hope to hear from you soon." I ended the recording and sent it back to him. I also attached my address and couldn't sit still waiting for an answer.

I was alone with Mick Schumacher. Out of everyone else, it ended up to be Mick Schumacher. What were the odds of that? And why him? I shrugged the questions aside and tried not to think much. Internally I was fangirling. Imagine spending the last days of your life with a formula one driver. Strange but it would be an experience to remember in the afterlife. I walked up to the kitchen and opened the fridge to see that it was slowly starting to empty itself out. I ate what was remaining and told myself I would venture to nearby stores and rob the store. Literally. But no one would care as no one was around. The cameras still worked, but by the time people would find the footage, we'll be long gone. We. I have Mick now.

The store was empty of course and was freezing cold without anyone to turn the heating on. I quickly grabbed a basket and hurried over to the aisles I needed. I grabbed a few sanitarily items, some candles for the weeks to come, canned food and went to grab some snacks. The fresh items were staring to rot with flies buzzing overhead. I saved what I could and proceeded to head out when I stopped in my tracks. I heard a growl. It was coming from behind. I slowly turned around and saw a wolf. A wolf?? Was wildlife coming back and reclaiming the earth as its own before humans arrived and stole everything? It was growling defensively and showed its canines menacingly. I slowly and steadily took small steps back but it just crept closer and closer. As it got crept towards me I saw it was bleeding from its mouth and drool dropped everywhere leaving a trail of saliva everywhere. It had rabies. I could die from this. I looked around, trying to find something that could fend myself off with. I grabbed an umbrella and pointed it at the wolf in front of me.

Flight or fight?

I took a deep breath and turned to the shelf besides me. With all that my muscles could pull I put an obstacle between me and the wolf and decided to make a run for it. The momentum and the element of surprise gave me a small advantage. I ran and ran until I saw the parking lot and my car which was parked there. I took the keys out of the bag which was clanking with the cans. I heard ragged breaths behind of me that were getting closer and closer. I opened the door, jumped in, the gear hitting me in the stomach, and closed the door. But I was a second too late. there was little space for it to bite me but it managed to claw me. I yelled in pain and forced the door close. The wolf clawed at my window, as I drove off as fast as I could. I winced in pain and dared to look at my leg. The cut was deep. Blood was gushing out.
