Our honeymoon went by in a flash and soon enough, the day we both dreaded arrived. According to my calculations, the nuclear powerhouses would explode tomorrow in the early morning. We were going to go tonight. I wasn't ready to say good bye, not when I only had him.
I gently woke Mick up, impatient to spend my last day on earth to the fullest with him,
"Hey tiger wake up, we have to go."
He groaned and rubbed his eyes,
"Go where?"
"What do you say we go ice skating? One last time."
"I'm going to get dressed."

We arrived at the frozen lake that during wintertime served as a natural ice rink. We went over to the booths and took ice skating shoes and made sure they fit us.
"You know how to skate right Mick?" I defiantly asked him,
"I'm a formula one driver, what can't I do?" he answered sarcastically. I shoved him into the rink and watched him desperately trying to find his balance and fall flat on his butt,
"Hey! What was that for?"
"You being a jerk,"
"Bruh."
I went and glided smoothly and warmed up, it's been a while since I went ice skating, and expected my moves to be rusty but thankfully I found my pace again and went over to Mick and twirled for him to see,
"Show off," he huffed.
"Only for you," I winked, and grabbed his arm, we turned and laughed as we were both starting to get dizzy. We slowed down before letting go of each other's arm. I tipped over like a drunk person and I might've miscalculated my step and fell on my butt. This was going to bruise. Mick was laughing his ass off and that annoyed me.
"Karma bitch!" Who the fuck was he calling a bitch?
I slid over to where he stood laughing and with a quick motion as if I was snipping grass, swept him off his feet and he fell back, but I made sure to catch his head. He looked at me from upside down and laughed even more,
"Guess you can say you swept me off my feet." he commented and I smiled softly.
After a long and eventful day at the lake, Mick and I decided to go home as we both felt our muscles becoming sore. We were still laughing and giggling like children when we opened the door to our house. We both helped each other to build a fort outside. Our fort looked pretty awesome if you asked me. We also tried our best to build an outdoor fire place and eventually sparks flied and we were able to warm ourselves up. We snuggled in our fort and decided to finish the book we started to read together. This time I didn't fall asleep.
"The wind began to blow again. It was the levanter, the wind that came from Africa . It didn't bring with it the smell of the desert, nor the threat of Moorish invasion. Instead, it brought the scent of a perfume he knew well, and the touch of a kiss — a kiss that came from far away, slowly, slowly, until it rested on his lips. The boy smiled. It was the first time she had done that. "I'm coming, Fatima ," he said. "
"The. End." Mick dramatically said as he slammed the book shut. I yawned and grabbed him,
"You're a great reader Mick,"
"Thank you, but now I'm hungry, so let's eat everything we have left."
We ate like there was no tomorrow. We emptied every can, every bottle, every snacks, every sweets until I couldn't stuff myself anymore. I accidentally burped out loud because of the amount I ate and Mick looked at me as if I had said something to offend him. But then he inhaled and burped even louder than me. God this kid.

[ I'm not ready to say good bye ]
This was it. It's all apart of the journey in the end. Mick took out the drapes that served as a ceiling so that we could stare at the bright night sky as we would both burn out. He held me tight as we both stared up in silence. Suddenly, a shooting star passed,
"Make a wish," he whimpered, his voice hoarse,
"I wish we could stay like this forever." I murmured.
"I wish we wouldn't have to leave."
I looked up at him, a sad smile on my face,
"No one's leaving Mick, I'll always be here."
I didn't think I could do this anymore, with he painful and the sappy good byes so I just reached for the bottle and opened it. I took a handful and popped them in my mouth, grabbed the closest water and gulped them down. I handed Mick the bottle. He looked down at it and frowned. He grabbed it and mimicked me. I began to cry, ugly cry.
"Don't cry liebling," I heard Mick say, "this is not the end."
"Mick, whatever happens, thank you. Thank you for making me feel everything. I'm now convinced you are my soulmate."
He smiled and nodded,
"You complete me (y/n), you're my other half, thank you for being on this journey with me."
I grabbed his hand and squeezed it three times,
"Will you remember me?"
"Always."
We looked back up at the sky and watched as the moon shone its light on us. It wasn't fair. I was mad at everything. Giving me the best gift I could ever ask for but taking it away from me right away afterwards. I cursed the Gods.
"Mick," I began, "I'm super tired-" and then I yawned. It was beginning. He closed his eyes and held me tight, afraid to let me go. He nuzzled his head in the crook of my neck and planted a kiss there. In the end my wound was scarring, and I had to thank Mick for that.
"Good night (y/n)," he whispered, making everything harder.
"I love you Mick,"
"I love you more (y/n)," he answered me, and I cried. Eventually, I breathed normally again and my eyelids started to fall, I glanced one last time at Mick and saw him sleeping peacefully. I sighed and closed my eyes. I remember turning my head and kissing my boy one last time. And then, I remember sleeping and not waking up.
