MICK

-ˋˏ ༻✿༺ ˎˊ-

(y/n)'s wound looked nasty and it was most probably infected. She was wincing in misery as I stared down at it, while gently holding her leg.

"I'm going to get the first aid kit," I said sitting up,

"It's in the bathroom." (y/n) spoke, her voice low and shivering.

I ran to the bathroom and ran through its content trying to find the first aid kit she was talking about. I turned over the mirror open and saw it. The white box with a red cross on it. I yanked it out and sprinted back, to the kitchen where I left her, only to find (y/n) spread across the floor, unconscious. I dropped by her side and lift her up. I held her face in my hands and gently slapped her to try and wake her up, nothing she didn't move. I began pinching her arm, harder and harder, until she stated flinching.

"(y/n), you will be fine I promise, I just need you to get up please." She then opened one eye and closed it again, I stopped whatever I was doing and all I could her was my breathing and her light whining. I exhaled in relief and lifted her up bridal style and carried her all the way to her bedroom she quickly showed me earlier.

"There you go, all patched up." I said as I smoothly touched down the last bit of adhesive on her fresh Band-Aids. She grinned at me weakly and motioned for me to lie down next to her. I scooted over with the little space she left me and pulled the covers over her.

"Who knew formula one driver Mick Schumacher was also a doctor?"

"What can I say, I'm multitalented," I smirked and she smiled even wider and I heard her giggle under her breath.

"Hey are you ok? You scared me back there," I said lowly. She bit her lip and after a pause she answered, "yeah, the pain was unbearable, so my whole body just shut down. Thanks for catching me."

"It's the least I can do." I shot back at her. She then shoved me playfully and rested her head on her pillow as she sunk back in her bed. I watched as her chest rose and fell with every breath she took. Even in the most violent storms, the girl always managed to look like a peaceful sea. I leaned in to brush away the hair that covered her eyes but my fingers hovered above her face. I pulled back and instead left the room, making sure to turn off the lights on my way out.

"Mick," hhmmm?

"Mick, wake up," someone was shaking me. "MICK!" I bolted up my hand clenched in fists ready to fight.

"Wow easy there tiger, it's just me," I turned around and saw (y/n) sitting at the foot of my bed. I breathe in again as my heartrate slowed down.

"You scared me half to death." She stared at me in silence until she grin and showed me 'jazzy hands'

"Good morning! Breakfast is served." I shook my head playfully,

"Uh oh, did you burn down the kitchen?" I pretended to sniff the air, "Is that smoke I smell?" She sniffed the air too and her eyes started to widen,

"THE TOASTS." She then sprinted to the kitchen as fast as her leg permitted her to. Oh yeah, I need to check up on that leg. I threw on my sweater and headed to where she was. I stood in the doorway, looking at the girl. She wore the same outfit as last night and had her hair up in a bun, messed up from a rough night of relentless sleep. But she still looked astonishing. She pulled out the two pieces of toast from her toaster and burned her fingers in the process and shoved her fingertips in her mouth to cool down the heat. She turned around and spotted me in the corner.

"Well, aren't you going to help me?" I smirked and went to help her make a decent breakfast for us to eat.

"And then, after I opened my gifts, we danced to WAP. WAP can you believe it? My parents were outraged by the lyrics they just sat there on the couch staring into the void, contemplating their life choices, while my friends and I were singing and dancing our hearts out." She laughed while she used her fork to put the bit of maple covered waffle in her mouth. I was laughing as well. (y/n) told me all about her 18th birthday party that then led to this disaster.

"It was one of the most memorable nights of my life." She concluded. We were both silent for a moment, enjoying our food, the company and the laughter,

"One of?" I asked bluntly. She looked at me and I think I saw her smile.

"Yeah, one of." And I think the silent answered my question.

I got up cleared the dishes and went back to where (y/n) was sitting on her chair near the counter.

"Alright wolfie, show me your leg," she raised her eyebrow at the nickname I gave her, and I rolled my eyes, I pointed at her leg, "'cause wolf? Leg? Get it?"

"I'm not stupid Mick," she chuckled and punched my arm. I pretended to be hurt and looked back at her leg. There were just little spots of blood but nothing to alarming, I grabbed the scissors and cut her old bandage open. She winced at the touch of the cold metal and then looked back her leg. It was better than yesterday, but still worse than tomorrow.

"How does it look doc?" She snickered, despite the pain she was in, (y/n) still managed to be a warrior and make jokes about her suffering, that I admired about her.

"Nothing we can't fix."

"Thanks tiger," (y/n) said, admiring her new bandage. She shot up and staggered a little. I caught her before she fell back. We were now in a delicate position. I was holding bother of her upper arms, while her palms rested on my chest. My heartbeat accelerated and I knew she could feel it. Her pupils dilated and our breathings were heavy. One of us was going to break and lean in.

"I-I... uh." I was lost at words, and she sensed it too

"You have beautiful eyes," she said softly, ignoring my rambling, and then when the words slipped out her eyes grew wide as if she couldn't believe the words fell out, but when she noticed my bright red blush, she grinned.

"Th-thanks." I managed to utter, voice cracking.

"Aww, did I get Mick Schumacher all flustered?" she sneered.
