She lived in Switzerland. I think I may have shed a tear after hearing that. What were the odds. I thanked the forces above and went to answer her message. She sent me a link of her address, what a genius. I clicked on it and my mouth fell in surprise. She lived two hours away. 

I instantly messaged her back and hoped to hear from her. I told her I would drive out to see her the next day if it was ok with her. I sent out my message and went to pack my bags. I exited my kitchen and went to see upstairs. I yelled for my mom and my sister but no one answered. As expected. I went up to my parent's room and saw how calm and peaceful it was. I looked at the wall with melancholia as I saw baby pictures of Gina and I both during our sports competitions. My dad was there, looking as healthy as ever. Damn ski. My mom was also in some of the pictures and I smiled painfully as children's laughter echoed in my head and my parents voices filled the room I shut the door close and exhaled. I didn't know I was holding my breath. I went to my dad's resting room and saw that the bed was still empty. But everything was in place, even the chair that I sat in.  I still don't understand how I ended up in an alternate reality where everyone was gone and I was left alone with a girl who I didn't know. But I was very stoked and excited to see her. (y/n). I wonder what she's like. I saw from the last video that she sent me that she regained vitality every since I replied to her cry for help. It made me smile. 

I went into my room and checked my phone. No new messages from anyone, not even (y/n). I put it down on my desk and went to my wardrobe. I shoved as much as I could in my luggage. I brought my essential products. My toiletries, clothes, winter clothes, and my Ferrari clothes that I kept as souvenir from my F2 days. I closed my luggage and headed downstairs. My computer chimed and I rushed over to the kitchen counter to see that (y/n) answered me. She told me she was unable to move anywhere, and couldn't possibly drive halfway through the country to see me. I cocked my brows in confusion and continued to watch the video and she pivoted the camera to show me her leg that was wrapped in bandages, but blood was still plastered. She told me was clawed by a wolf that had rabies. I sat down, hoping that a chair would catch me and thankfully it did. A wolf that had rabies. I bit my lips in frustration and in empathy for her. It was not air. Weeks away from the end of the world and she had to suffer like this. She was just trying to survive. 

I clicked out of the video and just said:

"Don't move, I'm coming to you."

The sun was setting and I checked my phone. Fully charged, and the clock told me it was 4:36 pm. In winter, the sun would set faster and nighttime would soon prevail. I would have to be very careful and indulgent on the road, especially when it was cold and wolves started to roam free as human disappeared and weren't controlling them anymore. 

I headed towards my garage and lifted the door. I had several cars to choose from. Perks of being Michael Schumacher's son. And also a F1 driver. I chose to take the Mercedes SUV that was parked in the far right of my garage. I hope it still worked.  I got in, turned the engine on which roared with power. I sighed in relief and looked at the gas tank, half full. Or half empty. I think I had enough for a two hour drive. I checked my phone again and saw that it was 4:45 pm and the sun was barely visible. I had to speed to make it in time and to be there for (y/n).

I drove out of my driveway and glanced one last time at my house in the rearview mirror and mentally said good bye and turned on the GPS. I stepped on the pedal and sped off. 

The light died out and I had to turn my headlights on, it was darker than I thought and it started to snow again. I tried my best to slow down to avoid being caught in an accident, but to speed up in order to arrive as quickly as possible. I squinted through the snow and drove carefully. I stepped on the brakes and made the car spin as I saw something sprint in front of me crossing the road. I held on and tried to stay on track as best as I could. I used my formula one drivers skill to stay as calm as possible and not die. Then the car stopped. I didn't hit anything and thank God for the tires. No punctures. Nothing not a scratch. I breathed in relief and looked at the GPS in the car, half an hour left until I arrived at (y/n)s house. I put the car in reverse and got back on the road. Stupid deer.

"You have arrived at your destination." Alerted the automated female voice from the GPS. I dimmed the car headlights and honked at the house I was parked out in front of. I then turned the engine off and waited in the car. I looked outside and saw how peaceful her neighborhood was. No one was around, just the snow, the stars and (y/n). The only source of light came from her house which in normal time would make it look odd, but now seeing the lights on was comforting. Behind the tinted glass door, I saw a black shadow moving. I got out of the car and waited there. The door opened and there she was. She stood there for a second and I could see how she held her breath as she exhaled in what looked like relief. She then clumsily rushed towards me, foot dragging the floor. She was dressed in only a long sleeves beige shirt and wool shorts. I jogged my way up to her, so she didn't have to walk far, and then she widened her arms. I don't know what happened in my brain or how I processed things but I ran to her and she tumbled in my arms. I was taken a bit aback from her brute force that sent me stumbling a few steps back and I pulled her close by the waist. She flung her arms around my neck and buried her face in the crook of my neck. I exhaled and savored the moment. I wasn't alone anymore. We pulled apart, as she started shivering. (Y/n) looked me in the eyes and asked, 

"Hey Mick, you won't leave will you?" 

I shook my head and answered, 

"You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now."
