I was engaged. The unexpected happened last night and I still couldn't believe it happened. I think I'm still dreaming. Could be possible.
Today Mick and I were off to pick out what we could to organize a mini wedding, us being the only one there, just to say we got married. I of course reloaded my gin and tucked it safely in my back and left out to the car. The drive to the nearest wedding dress wasn't that far, I forced Mick to leave as tradition wants it that it would be bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding, and bad luck is the last thing we needed. So he agreed and made sure the store was safe before leaving him to find a tux somewhere. I had the store all to myself.
I looked at the array of white dresses and decided to try most of what they had, but one in particular took my breath away and I was pretty it was the one I would go home with. I took it to the changing rooms and tried it on. As I turned to look in the mirror, I smiled proudly. it looked perfect. It was an off shoulders dress with the sleeves falling delicately on the sides. The bottom in itself was a bunch of ruffles and laces falling down straightly but it still was voluminous. It made me feel like royalty and I loved it. I went out to pick a veil and decided that my job here was done. I undressed and went to carefully pack my dress and stayed in the store while I waited for Mick to come back. After a long 20 minute wait, I heard his engine roar and went out.
"So how was your fitting?"
"The tailor was quite nice," Mick joked, I grinned, "how 'bout you?"
"I can't wait for you to see it,"
"I can't wait to take it off," I looked at him with daggers in my eyes and playfully shoved him.

Mick and I picked tomorrow to wed. Time was quickly passing and we had maximum four days before 'praimfaya' killed us all. So in the meantime, we set up the venue. We gathered chairs outside and put the name tags on it. It was painful to put down my mother's and father's name on the first row and all of my friends not far behind. I looked over and saw Mick having a hard time too. To this day we still don't know what happened, but we tried our bests not to focus on that and instead make most of the time we had left.
"Hey darl, you okay?" I whispered gently, rubbing his back, he was setting down a tag with 'Vati' written on it. I looked around and recognized his mother's and sister's name too and all of his friends would be some childhood friends he mentioned and others were his teammates and rivals in formula one. I even saw Lewis's name on a chair.
"Yeah, just a little emotional," he answered after a moment of silence. I nodded.
"Who's going to be your maid of honor?" I thought for a while, and answered,
"I know your sister would be a sweetheart so I would've asked her." But I didn't get the privilege of meeting her. "So I think I'll just have my sisters and my best friend."
He nodded and smiled. He grabbed me by the arm and kissed the top of my head.
"Who's your best man?"
"I would've said my dad, but he's in a delicate position so maybe like Callum or Marcus."
"I think they'd all be honored."

Mick and I agreed to just have simple food and not anything fancy like cake because one:
- We couldn't bake it
Two:
- No one was here to eat it with us anyways.
It was going to be a very private ceremony. About the music, we decided to steal from a store a gramophone, that required no electricity to work, we also borrowed a few records for our first dance. By the end of the day, thanks to our efficiency, the whole wedding was already planned out. We had to race against time so of course Mick and I being the pair we were made it work. We high-fived each other and went back into the house.
"Aren't we supposed to like not see each other until the wedding?"
Oh no. I frowned
"Stupid traditions. I'm not wasting quality time with you."
He nodded happy, like he was hoping he'd get this answer.
"Good, 'cause I wasn't about to let you go either."
"I'll always be with you."
After our usual night routine, Mick and I cuddled in our man made bed that was now in the living room by the fireplace. I plopped down besides him, book in hand,
"Want to read this together? It's one of my favorite books." He extended his hands to see what book I was holding,
"The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho." He flipped the book, "interesting."
I got under the covers with him and nuzzled myself against him. He did smell really good.
He dramatically cleared his throat and opened the first few pages, and began reading, his voice smooth and gentle,
"The boy's name was Santiago . Dusk was falling as the boy arrived with his herd at an abandoned church. The roof had fallen in long ago, and an enormous sycamore had grown on the spot where the sacristy had once stood. " And I think I might've fallen asleep sometime later.
"Are you sleeping wolfie?" He nudged me wake,
"Was? Nein, just continue reading." I said and closed my eyes again,
"You were literally sleeping."
I sighed,
"Just one more chapter please?"
"I could read the whole book for you if you asked."
I smiled and nodded in encouragement.
What a simp.
