The Untouchables

Year 1 Chapter 2

The train came to a halt and students made their way out, the first years were being guided by prefects to the boats. Erin walked alongside Theodore as the two made small talk about the sorting ceremony.

"So, what house do you'll get sorted into?" Theodore asked, Erin, remembered her conversation with Draco though she was still not sure if she will be put into Slytherin. "I'm still not sure, maybe I'll get into Hufflepuff." She shrugged and Theodore laughed making her furrow her brows, "What's so funny?" She asked making the boy stop laughing.

"Oh, you're serious. Wasn't your father a Slytherin, and so was your mother? Come to think of it, isn't everyone from your family is a Slytherin." Theodore said he was confused as to why Erin thinks she'll get into Hufflepuff. The girl thought for a bit and assessed her family tree and realized all of them did came from Slytherin. "Huh, I guess your right." She said and got into the boat.

Theodore chuckled and sat beside the girl. As they approached the castle the children looked up in awe, soon enough they were being led up to a large door but they were made to stop by the staircase. "Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Now, while you are here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you house points. Any rule-breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup." An elderly woman said to all of them, they nodded and watched her walk inside a door.

The first years talked amongst themselves trying to get to know their new batchmates. "So it's true then, what they were saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." Erin overheard Draco say, soon other students started whispering and some of them were even surprised.

"This is Crabbe and Goyle and I'm Malfoy...Draco Malfoy." the boy smugly introduced himself, Erin on the other hand was trying so hard not to roll her eyes, Blaise standing next to her quietly watched with the other students, and Theodore wanted to laugh at Draco's attempt to befriend Potter.

Ronald Weasley suddenly snickered which caught Draco's attention. "Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask yours. Red hair and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley." He insulted, he then turned to Harry once again

"We'll soon find that some wizarding families are better than others, Potter. Don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." Draco extends his hand for Harry to shake "I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks." Harry replied while giving Draco a disapproving look.

Professor McGonagall appeared. "We're ready for you now." They then started to walk towards the great hall. they Reached the front where an old hat was placed, Erin recognized it as the sorting hat.

Headmaster Dumbledore began to talk. "I have a few starts of term notices I wish to announce. In the first years please note that the dark forest is strictly forbidden to all students. Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch has asked me to remind you that the 3rd-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death. Thank you." Erin looked at Blaise with a bewildered look, he too looked concerned.

Professor McGonagall then started to call students to be sorted. Hermione Granger was first. She sat down and was trying to calm herself, the sorting hat was placed on top of her head and it began to talk.

"Ah, right then...hmm...right. Okay...Gryffindor!!" The Gryffindor table then began to cheer for the new member of their house. Professor McGonagall then called Draco. The boy looked at Erin, she gave him a small smile and Draco sat at the chair. Before the sorting hat could fully touch the top of his head it already made up its mind. "SLYTHERIN!"
