Equipotentials of Weird

"Everybody is somebody else's weirdo..." - a quote attributed to Scott Adams, but one that's always resonated with me for some reason.

I've always taken being labelled as 'weird' as an odd sort of compliment. I used to get invited to meetings in my previous job because "you can think around corners Gav", or "you think a little differently to most engineers Gav". Both seem to mean "you're odd, but you make our other ideas seem much more plausible" in cold engineering terms. But that's fine by me. A bridge made of recycled car tires with the explanation "the road will hold the car, rather than the other way around" was never going to be accepted in corporate engineering. Got a smile though.

I love weird people. I suspect we're mutually attracted, and there may well be an odd force - a bit like magnetism - that binds us all together. I hope so. The thought of some form of weirdness equipotential, or weirdness well particularly appeals to me, although the latter may imply Brian is a black hole, which again is enitrely possible as a lot of stuff seems to disappear into Brian never to be seen again.

As long as the answer remains 42 somewhere, and there's a pint of beer involved, then I'm happy. And one day Brian may spew something out the other ear that's actually useful. Unlike the previous three paragraphs.

"Dad, you're weird."

"Thank you, weirdness is hereditary."

"Oh."
