I went to a games evening last night, attended by a multitude of Wattpad folk, and a few partners and friends.
It was a great evening, and at one point we were playing a game called Dixit which I really enjoyed. The premise of the game is that you pick a picture from your hand of cards, and you then have to choose a word or phrase to describe the picture. Then, the remainder of the people playing have to choose a card from their own hand to try and match that descriptive. The rub of course is that you don't want everyone present to guess which is your card when they're turned over, but you have to get some people to guess or you don't get any points. So, what's the point Gav?
Well, what I loved was the difference in perception of the players. You get a great insight into people's minds through this game, and it's a great reminder that regardless of social situation people will always look at the same thing in a different way.
I'd recommend to anyone to play this one, particularly if you have a slightly creative mind, as the artwork in some of the special editions is stunning, and a few of us ended up discussing story ideas based on the cards, or the actual perceptions we experienced whilst playing which was kinda cool.
There was also a particularly good malt whisky on hand which Brian is still trying to sleep off this morning. Can't take him anywhere...
