"If I could be with you tonight, I would sing you to sleep. Never let them take the light behind your eyes"

"Don't worry dear, she has been sent to St Mungos, she is going to be just fine"

The day after the incident at hogsmeade, I had tried to ask Harry what had happened with Katie bell. I saw him in the halls as I was walking to the great hall and I stopped him.

"What's happened with Katie? Is she alright? What was the necklace about?" He look at me as if he was confused as to why i was speaking to him.

"Um, she's fine." He began to walk away from me. I stopped him before he could.

"Did they find out what the necklace was? Or who gave it to her?" Harry looked me in the eyes with frustration.

"Look, it doesn't concern you. She's fine. And as for who gave it to her, I have a hunch."

"Who?" I asked him. He looked at me for a few moments before saying

"It doesn't matter" and turning on his heel, walking away from me hurriedly. He really didn't want to speak to me and I couldn't think why.

...

Professor McGonagall was assuring me that Katie was safe at St Mungos. I couldn't get anymore answers out of Harry and the other members of the trio seemed to be avoiding me.

"Do you have any idea what happened to her?"
With a slight hesitation, she said

"She was under a curse. Someone had instructed her to give the necklace to-" she paused for a moment. "To professor Dumbledore. She ended up touching the necklace herself, causing the curse that was meant for professor Dumbledore to instead be cast onto her. She is very lucky to be alive." I looked at her in shock.

"Someone tried to kill Dumbledore?" McGonagall turned away from me to fumble around with a few things on her desk.

"Don't worry yourself dear. It will be fine. Now, go on, off to dinner" she said with a strict voice.

"Do you know who it-"

"I said to dinner" she said. She was a strict but very kind teacher and I knew she wouldn't be dismissive to me unless it was needed.

"Thank you professor" I muttered after a few moments. With my words, I left the room.

...

"I've told you, she didn't tell me".

Zack was questioning me about what McGonagall told me while we were sat eating dinner in the great hall. The whole group was here. Except Draco. I hadn't seen him since yesterday - he had disappeared again. He wasn't in ancient runes today and now he hadn't joined us for dinner. It was a rare occasion when he did, but I still wanted him to be here so I could tell him about the events of yesterday and this morning.

"Surely she must have some idea" Blaize added.

"If she does she didn't tell me." I responded to him. "Potter said he had a hunch"

"Who?" Cass jumped in.

"He didn't tell me. He seemed like he wanted to get away from me. I don't know why"

"Well, he's not exactly friendly with Draco is he. And you are his mate now." Said Eddie.

"He's never had a problem with me before" I responded. "And Draco hardly speaks to me to say we're mates."
