Greis and Rum (COMPLETED)

23- First

Has it been a week or two since we came home from La Union? Everything goes by so fast. I lost count of the days because we've been busy with our work especially now that I moved out of my condo. Rumzuell was sad also when I told him about my decision that we're no longer going to be neighbors and he'll have the whole floor for himself. Now that his house is fixed according to his preferences, he should really stay there too to enjoy the comfort. Speaking of fast though, I'm rushing to get to someone who's drowning himself in liquors.

"Ma'am Engineer, sorry sa abala."

"Tulog na ba?"

"Opo, mauna na po ako." he left me and so I went there to see what had happened to Sheen Ortigas. Hay, sad boy, ano ba kasing nangyari? He was half asleep when I entered the private space. Tinapik ko ang shoulder niya, he leaned on the table and smiled even though he looked really really really wasted. Waiting for a few seconds, he rubbed his eyes and so I sat in front of him. His words slurred as he stretched his arms and called my name out "Cathalee, greamt to see yhmmm" he went.

Cathalee ampotcha.

"Who did this to you? Sabihin mo lang and I'll listen."

"Aww!" he held his chest as if touched "Cathalee, you are being thoughtful right now." Sabi niya pa. I rolled my eyes, ano muna ang Cathalee? Tsaka, ngayon lang ba ako thoughtful? Tss! Andami pang hindi nakabukas na Cuervo dito, sayang naman na di ko inumin. I opened the bottle at tsaka nagsalin sa isang panibagong baso. Umiinom si Sheen but hindi siya nalalasing at naglalasing ng ganito, the last time I saw him this worse was just 5 years ago.

"Nagkita kami ni Macy."

His ex.

She was the reason why his world revolved and why it stopped revolving. Since then, he just didn't like the idea of love—he could not imagine himself loving someone the way he loved Macy.

"I knew I was ready to finally try again when I saw you with that Captain. Pwede palang sumaya ulit and not dwell on how yesterday destroyed me. After five years nagkita kami ulit and she seemed so happy. Kung kailan masaya na ako sa nililigawan ko, ngayon pa siya ipinakita sa akin ng tadhao. But damn she made me feel so different that she pulled me back into my past." he said which broke my heart. Nararamdaman ko siya kahit wala naman akong ex but it had a different attack on me. I kept on drinking as he went on "She was like a habit to my system, you know. Alam mo naman yun." I nodded to what he said because I was a witness of their start and also how they ended "Old habits die hard. Goes the same way with First love never dies—it is always the first, Cathalee. Mahal ko parin siya, mahal ko parin si Macy." he folded his arms on top of the table and rested on it.

Patuloy ako sa pag-inom as he passed out.

Ang dagundong ng nakakabinging party music ay halos hindi ko dama.

What mattered to me was the battle of my heart and mind. 

What he said made me think a lot. I've tried asking Rumzuell that question when we saw his ex but listening to Sheen confused me with how I am going to feel. Maybe because hindi pa kami secured when I asked that to him so I feel this way. I accidentally looked at the side part of the table and saw a few more bottles, hihintayin ko na lang si Rumzuell dito na dumating. I looked at Sheen who passed out. Hindi naman siguro totoo yung first love never dies. Maybe it doesn't work on other people at tiyempo tiyempo lang yun because if it's meant for you, then it's for you. Kinukutaw nito ang braincells ko ha.

Hanggang sa dumating si Rumzuell, I was just staring at the passed out Sheen while drinking.

"Tama na yan, kawawa mga empleyado mo bukas." Tsaka umupo siya sa tabi ko. Tiningnan ko lang siya tsaka nagpatuloy sa pag-inom "Look at where we are! So, what was your first impression of me?" I smiled to cover up the unpleasant thoughts, hoping too that he doesn't feel the negativity of the what is clouding up in my mind. Oo, yes, nasa Euphoria kami ngayon and I know I was once lost in here but also glad to know that I found my way back into love through a moment in Euphoria. Naks! Ano na ba tong pinagsasabi ko "POSH talaga, napaka-expensive mo and even the dress na sinira mo." he said with a chuckle. Anong POSH? I'll research later and so I didn't put what he said in mind.
