3rd Person's POV
"Did you call again?! Did they lift?" Jake asked for the nth time in the past fifteen minutes.
"Will you stop freaking out. You are right beside me, you'll know when they lift the call!" Sunghoon scolded.
"I'm bedridden. I've never slept with anyone nor fell in love and If my brother doesn't get this shit done I'm going to die with the rest of my people before I even graduate from high school. Yeah, I'll certainly stop freaking out!"
Jake freaked out.
Sunghoon sighed, getting up and scooting closer to Jake. "Move over!"
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Jake asked frowning at the vampire.
"Since you're dying for it. I'm gonna sleep with you before you die. " He said with a playful glint in his eye. Jake's heart stopped for a moment, but instead, he gave the vampire a nasty look. What he did next took Sunghoon by surprise as he cried out loud in pain.
Jake pinched the vampire's shoulder till it turned red, "Okay okay fine, I won't joke around, stop pinching." Sunghoon pleaded, rubbing his shoulder in pain once he stopped pinching.
As if on queue Jake's phone started ringing, he quickly took the call and put it on speaker.
"Jake? This is Jay. Our car got caught....up in the swamp... We are going there on feet. " Jay's voice was unclear as he spoke between breaths.
"We were so worried. How long will it take to get there, all the doses of the herbs are out? And more people are coming to the clinic affected by the spell. " Jake said, worry and fear evident in his voice.
"It will take over half an hour. Jake, I want you to believe in me. I won't let anything happen to you. Or our people. We are running, we'll reach there as soon as possible. You take care. Okay?"
"Okay. You take care too and hurry." Jake said lowly, after putting away the phone on the table.
"He'll get it done," Sunghoon assured.
"I know," Jake said trying to sound confident. He continued, "The herbs will wear off in any minute now. It will start spreading. We dont know how long we have until the body starts disabling."
"All we have to do is wait patiently now," Sunghoon said with a sigh.
"Or today would be the day I die." Jake ended.
"Shut up. You won't die today, I know."
"How so?"
"Because cockroaches are hard to kill" Sunghoon laughed, trying to lighten the mood. Jake glared at him initially but cracked a smile anyway.
