Chapter 1~

Round-the-clock flicking of a pencil on a desk encompassed the small classroom, consistent enough to make a deaf-man cry out in annoyance. The source of this continuous strand of vexation came from a single girl numbed to whatever was outside of her mind.

Unaware of the storming glares from all around, the girl was stuck in a trance, fixated on a vacant window, clearly bored. To the girl, outside noise all sounded the same: muddy and distorted.

A slam on the teacher's table that made even the desks feel pain finally broke through her glared state. A deafening shout followed.

""Cher!! I've spoken twice now and have heard no response! Must I ask once again? Where is your work? You've given me your workbook but why is it that there is no trace of the homework I gave you inside the book? Not even notes!""

Although Cher was given the time to think of an alibi, for the life of her she could not think of a single excuse. Being the 'upstanding' student she was, she told the truth.

""Ms., my deepest apologies as one of your only respectable students I shall never make this mistake again. I've forgotten your homework was even due this week as I was binging the whole nine seasons of "Place of Business"".

Having taught Cher last year, this teacher was familiar with her overuse of sarcasm when speaking to authority. Cher had unknowingly jumped into the abyss; \\<GAME OVER>//.

""I will deal with you once I'm finished teaching the rest of this class. I will escort you to the student council room where you can do this in your lunch break.""

At that the educator slapped the empty book onto her own desk, turned around and continued speaking to the rest of the class.

'Father, Mother,  if I am to die today, please grant me the honor of being cremated and sent into space. The student council room is an honor student's pearly gates and a fool's Gehenna. A terrifying place for me. Naturally, I'm the type of person to have adversaries around every corner and what makes this place so frightening isn't the seemingly non-existent supervisor but a particular student council member, James the schoolwide elected student council president. Not to be confused with one of the male specimens, James is in fact a dame. Not a delicate one though, that's for sure. James is the school's bread and butter, their kink and a respectful rejection....she would always accompany any talk of the schools reputation by outsiders.  A bundle of conscientious decision making and pure rule-enforcing bursting at the seams!'

Cher had spaced out once more, by the time she had awoken from the blur that was her mind, her teacher had just finished up the lesson and was approaching her. Reminding Cher of the incoming 'GAME OVER' she had initiated. The educator no longer had any words for Cher and simply motioned for her to ensue.

Obediently trailing behind, the impending doom Cher had walked into was now sinking in to its fullest degree. Cher's clearly drained teacher had already reached the 'pit of hell' called the student council room furthermore passed a note informing of the situation to the snacking James and left without a word.

James slowly chewed on her plain scrambled egg sandwich as she assessed the note she'd been passed, swallowed then looked towards Cher with discontent in her eyes.

""Can I see your workbook?""

James gestured to the book the teacher had slipped into Cher's hands when she was spacing out.

Unable to speak, knowing the full extent of James' wrath, Cher choked out a-.

""I'm sorry""

Plainly confused by this statement James asked anew.

""Cher, can I please have a look inside your workbook?""

At this point Cher had given up on being polite and without a word of response, turned around, walked towards the entryway, opened the door and walked out.

Dumbfounded, James got up from her seat and followed suit.

Turning her head every few seconds, James was gaining on her.

'The only rule I respect in this entire school is to not run in the halls! I pity the hall monitors.'

Keeping this in mind, Cher, to keep herself from being caught, had unintentionally set in motion a high speed speed-walking getaway.

'Hilariously terrifying.'

Walking through the halls at top walking speeds, Cher turned her head again only to see James, not a drop of sweat on her looking fairly calm.

'She's not even swaying her arms! Demon! That's a demon, I declare!'

Cher swiftly turned her head forward swearing to never do that again. Picking up the pace her limbs were starting to ache , her chest rising and falling sporadically. Hoarse breathes escaped her mouth yet she couldn't resist laughing, even with tears building in her eyes out of pure fear.

Cher scanned her path with vigor, trying to find a route that would ensure her escape.

'Next to the stairwell, if I take a left, there should be a corridor that leads to an exit!'

Planning to dash once outside, Cher had finalized her picture perfect high speed speed-walking getaway.

'Now hilariously victorious!'

However as she passed the stairwell she caught something in the corner of her eye making her turn her head. A lengthy girl with a sizable bust and a long messy ponytail curled up on the stairs watching her predicament, tears in her eyes.

'Why is she-'

Cher's thoughts clashed with her focus on her now not so speedy high speed speed-walking getaway, causing her to trip on air and plummet into the wall she was supposed to turn at.

""Pity me, damn it that really hurt!""

James' mouth turned up forming a smug grin on her normally unfazed face. James gently pulled away the still complaining Cher from the wall dragging her by the collar of her shirt back to the student council room.

""Ahh, look look there's blood!!""

Author's Comments:

<Hi 1NervousBasement here! When I was still in the planning stages of this story I had a very simple draft that I eventually scrapped since it had quite a lot of continuity errors. While I was writing a few basic checklists to follow when polishing up I randomly remembered that draft. In that draft I had very strictly stated that this story would heavily rely on Cher's thoughts to progress through the story. Although I won't be using that draft I still wanted use that particular  concept (not as heavily though). I hope making this change will make the story more enjoyable for me and you!> ˋ( ° ▽、° )

Cher - ""OooooOoo, I hope you don't look to deep into my thoughts~""

Mystery Person -*Yawning*

Cher - ""SHHHH, your character hasn't even been introduced yet!""
