Snowing Interest!

Chapter 10

..Rain...Lots of Rain...It's Cold...I'm Cold..

""ie...ddie...Caddie! Get up!""

Caddie jolted awake, she'd been writing in her journal last night and had fallen asleep at her desk. She'd drooled quite a bit on the page she was writing on, the words previously written were now smudged and unintelligible.

She looked to the person who'd woken her up, her younger brother, Jay. He was wearing a stylish pair of sweatpants and hoodie that, when he wore them, somehow didn't look baggy. Caddie then turned towards the window next to her, it was snowing lightly.

""If you don't get ready soon we'll leave without you. And maybe put on some make-up or something your eyes a all red and puffy.""

As Jay said this Cher seemed to remember something and pushed him out of her room.

She stammered over to her closet and pulled out, light blue jeans, a newly bought mauve tunic and a cardigan. The girl slowly got dressed, making sure she didn't have any rips in her clothes. She then collected whatever spare change she had left and shoved it in her pocket.

A few minutes later she emerged from her room and tumbled down the stairs, seeing that the others were in fact still there, waiting comfortably. Jay was in the kitchen creating some sort of drink. Lee was laying on the floor next to the heater while Cher was draped upside down on the sofa.

Caddie walked off her newly obtained limp from the stairs, grabbing some boots she'd left at the front door. Then sitting down on the very small space Cher had left spare on the sofa.

Lee was covered head to toe in clothes, from the oversized beanie on his head, to the large coat that reached his knees, to the ugg boots. He was pimped out. Cher wore a midi dress and a modest caplet. Truly a mix of colourful characters.

Lee turned to both of them, exclaiming loudly.

""You two are gonna die out there with how little clothes you're wearing!""

Cher scoffed, seemingly laughing at the amount of clothes the mouse had pilled onto himself. Making him look not-in-the-least threatening.

""Beauty is pain, you must be feeling pretty good right now, huh.""

Jay brought over a few weirdly coloured drinks that were steaming and placed them on the coffee table in front of everyone, froth building on the sides of the cups.

Cher rolled herself around to have a look at what Jay had placed down, immediately a disgusted face loomed over her once intrigued one.

Lee was the first to move, pulling himself up and grabbing one of the drinks, downing it in one go, thanking Jay with a crooked smile and then laying back down again.

Caddie followed. Downing the drink in one go then thanking Jay. Cher watched with great respect as the two consumed their drinks, glancing at the last drink that was staring back at her.

She braced herself before grabbing the drink and swallowing it whole. Feeling invigorated Cher almost smashed the cup on the ground, luckily she stopped herself.

""That drink was disgusting but I'd be lying if I didn't say I don't feel pumped now!""

Jay didn't know whether to be offended or flattered so he just walked away with the empty cups in hand. A strange almost confused look on his face.

After a few minutes Jay came back with a pair of sneakers in his hands.

""Shall we go now?""

Lee once again crawled up off the floor responding as he straightened out his clothes.

""Seems like we're all ready.""

One after the other, like ducklings they waddled out of the front door and into the cold. They walked down the path together, every-so-often they would huddle together when the cold wind blew towards them.

They had planned to go and watch a movie today, deciding to pick which one once they got there. They didn't expect the snow but they were determined to walk to this shopping centre that housed the cheapest cinema. Even if it was quite a long walk away.

I've never actually seen snow before but it seems so nice and cold so I really wanted to make it a normal occurrence in this story. (of course I also love icy cold rain storms so we're definitely getting some of that!) I had to look up so many different types of clothing for this and if anything sounds weird it's because I'm not the best at fashion. 

This chapter marks the start of the 2nd arc! Which means we're finally gonna start having some...interesting things happen! It took a lot longer to fix up these chapters than I thought it would. hehe. I got a little distracted. 〒▽〒 

ANYWAY I hope you'll continue with me on this journey as we transition into arc 2 - Snowing Interest! (terrible pun I know)
