Chapter 8
Jay's last name was in fact different to Caddie's. His full name had been listed officially in his class list as Jay White, hence Lee's confusion. Jay's last name was listed on his birth certificate as his mother's, Ally White.
Caddie's mother, Elizabeth Miller, had divorced Caddie's father when Caddie was still a newborn. Caddie lived alone with her mother until the age of six, then moved in with her father due to her mothers passing. Her mother was hit by a swerving truck, crushing her instantly.
Once Caddie was put under her father's custody, she found out she had a little brother just a year younger than her. Her father had moved on extremely quickly after his divorce and had gotten the just-of-age girl he was dating, pregnant.
This girl, Ally White, broke up with Caddie's father and had Jay a few months later. She looked after Jay until he was two before deciding she was too young to be a mother; and ran off leaving Jay with his father.
Lee closed his mouth, fearing that if he opened his mouth and tried poking at the subject anymore he'd get a handful of scones shoved down his esophagus.
Lee couldn't help but juggle a few glances between Caddie and Jay. Whereas Jay looked clearly distressed, almost angry at the topic matter, Caddie looked indifferent to it. It was hard to see if she had actually been paying attention to the conversation or not, as she was currently shoving scones greased up with butter down her throat at super-sonic speeds.
Staring down the small box supposedly carrying her beloved cheesecake as she deepthroated multiple scones at a time. Unexpectedly though, the first person to finish their box of scones was Lee. He'd been anxiously nibbling scones faster than an actual mouse would, afraid he had offended someone.
Realizing he'd run out of things to nibble on, he pulled on the box that had been placed in front of Jay and moved it to be in front of himself and continued eating. Although he was anxious, he was still quite cocky and had the balls to steal from the person he feared he'd offended the most.
Jay had been looking at his phone, not paying attention to his surroundings since their last conversation. The pager he'd slid into his pocket at some point buzzed. Interrupted from god knows what he was doing, he looked down at his pocket in disdain before trading it for his phone and scooting off the seat.
Cher was the last one to finish her box of scones, hesitantly placing the last one in her mouth, chewing with disgust painted across her face. She leaned back on her seat clearly exhausted.
""I want to sprawl out on my bed and pass away peacefully.""
She looked to her side to see how Caddie was doing. Caddie had curled up into a ball and was moaning painfully, her cheesecake untouched.
'Well now I'd feel bad if I said 'I told you so!' to her.'
Cher patted the groaning girls back as she turned to Lee. He looked completely fine considering he'd eaten two whole boxes worth of family filling scones. He seemed to have calmed down after filling his stomach.
Jay returned with two drinks in his hand. Before they'd pulled themselves into this mess, they came to this café to get a drink then walk home, however these plans were now foiled. Jay placed a caramel looking drink in front of Lee and sat down with a bottle of flavoured water in his hand.
Caddie immediately came to life swiping the bottle from Jay's hand, downing it sporadically. Jay stared at her as she inhaled his water, smiling to himself and pulling out his phone to do who knows what.
""Jay-Jay, I'm convinced that whenever you pull out your phone you're just updating a blog about mice and how to properly care for them.""
Cher had gotten over how sick she was feeling and was back to teasing innocent bystanders. Hearing her clearly planned out attack, Jay slowly stood up from his seat saying gently.
""Caddie please don't come home too sick or dad'll think you were drinking. I'm gonna head home now, see ya later.""
Hearing this Lee ingurgitated the rest of his drink and was about to also leave before he got an idea.
""Hey Caddie, if you're free, we were all planning to hang out this weekend, if you'd like to come join us that'd be great!""
Caddie was still feeling a bit ill and couldn't get her hand to move properly so she only replied with a short 'mmhn' while nodding her head.
""Well you don't look too good right now so I'll get Jay to tell you the details when you're feeling a bit better.""
Lee then quickly ran off and out of the shop.
...
Cher had been walking Caddie towards the direction of her home for a while now. However they weren't making much progress. Caddie had been dragging her feet a lot. Cher floated around her closely making sure she didn't trip over anything.
""...m...ona....th...p...""
This moaning mumble scared Cher so much she had to look back a few times to make sure it wasn't a zombie that had actually spoken right now. After confirming that there was nobody else around them Cher stared wide eyed at the last possibility. Cher leaned closely towards Caddie, asking quietly.
""Caddie what did you say, I couldn't quite catch that?""
The second she said this, a mountain of vomit sky-rocketed towards her. Caddie tried to hold her hand over her mouth, she was too slow and Cher's shirt had been covered in puke.
Cher seeing this, immediately felt like throwing up. She quickly removed her shirt before placing it on the pile of scones and stomach acid on the path, trying to remove the evidence. Luckily she wasn't naked under this shirt and wore a sports bra, covering up modestly.
Cher grabbed Caddie by the wrist and pulled her over to a nearby bench. Worried that the girl might collapse.
""Are you ok?""
""Mmhmn.....h...m..""
Author's Comments:
<The story behind Jay and Caddie's family was quite confusing to write, I was struggling a lot when I had just started planning out their characters. Although I'm really happy with how it turned out. I think I've made it so that depending on how the reader feels about certain subjects the 'bad guy' in their story changes. Of course I tried to make them human, at the end of the day they are gonna have flaws and I'm proud of how they turned out. Maybe I'll build on their story more in the future. For now you don't have to really think about it though, I just wanted to make their family seem human yet somehow inhuman depending on how much you look into it.>(Btw when Caddie says - ""...m...nna....th...p...""
She's trying to tell Cher - ""I'm gonna throw up."")Cher - ""You just couldn't be content with the big titted purity could you, creator-sama!""Caddie - 'Run Away! Run Away! Run Away!' ε=ε=ε=┏(゜ロ゜;)┛
