Chapter 13

The tapping of shoes on tile as a person walked through the hallways, sounding rushed. Lee rushed his words, sounding puffed.

""James, hey wait a second!""

A second pair of shoes followed behind, a nonchalant manner expelled from them.

""What are you yelling at? She's already long gone.""

Stopping, the shoes in front squeaked slightly, turning swifty to face the person approaching from behind. The contrast in the two boy's appearances was truly laughable. The smaller boy was almost snapping his neck trying to look up at the other, who was now standing directly in front of him.

""Hey hey, shorty! Don't turn around so fast. You almost face planted into me! Huh, what's up with that face you're making? You look like you just stubbed your to- Ah!""

With that Jay's uninjured foot had been stamped on.

""Why are you being so cold? I thought we were on at least good terms, somewhat like acquaintances? Is violence your go to method for releasing stress? Some honorable student council member you are!""

Lee had at some point throughout Jay's dribbling, started walking back to the student council room. Leaving the other to scramble back to his side as he continued to spout nonsense.

""H-Hey Now, Shorty, please don't ignore me! Come-on, I'm sorry for messing up your hair! Is it so bad to think that your hair would look better not being hard as a rock?""

Mumbling, Lee finally spoke.

""Don't call me shorty, or anyone in fact... It's degrading. Don't talk about my hair either, it's annoying.""

Jay responded, teasing.

""Hah? Your voice sounds so calm yet you look like you're on a mission to murder. Scary!""

Inhaling, Lee ignored him, saying.

""Jay? I heard James call you by that name.""

An 'Uh-huh' was enough for Lee to continue.

""Don't be thinking I use violence constantly, just know that you've brought everything onto yourself.""

Jay retorted, harshly.

""Why are you saying this? You sound like my dad.""

""I've been told to keep you in check, what do you think I'm doing? So don't think of us as even acquaintances, I am purely a rule enforcer to you and you are a pure annoyance to me. Understand?""

Again, Jay retorted.

""So are you saying you're just gonna listen to whatever James tells you to do? You're such a dog!""

The proclaimed dog swiveled sideways to face Jay.

""I don't think you understand how this works! Now listen here, I don't wanna do this anymore than you do so just shut it and don't get into anymore trouble!""

...

"But what if I don't want her!"

"Then what do you want!"

"I want you!"

""Urk!""

Lee choked on the popcorn he had been eagerly scoffing down, subsequently leading Cher to laugh.

A middle aged woman who had been sitting behind the group sniffled, she'd clearly been crying.

""Shhh, some people are actually trying to watch the movie!""

Jay and Caddie had been sitting next to each other in the middle of the group. They had barely moved since the start of the movie. Jay leaned into Caddie's ear whispering in a laugh.

""I didn't know the shorty liked romance movies so much maybe we shouldn't have let him have the last pick.""

Lee had been sitting next to Caddie and could plainly hear Jay's meaningless whisper.

""Hey! I thought you'd gotten over that nickname long ago!""

Jay responded, teasing.

""How do you know? I've just never said it in front of you. Surprisingly, my poor feet don't like being stamped on!""

Caddie now had two bickering 16 year olds leaning over her, at each other's throats. Not knowing what to do she sat there awkwardly. Her gase switched between the two boys as they spoke.

The woman behind had tried to intervene again, however this time she couldn't get a word in over the boy's dense argument.

Cher, who was seated next to Jay, was having yet another laughing fit.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

<Hehe. These last chapters have been pretty short, huh? I've gotten a bit of writer's block in the last few weeks. However I have finally recovered and the weekly updates should be back to normal.(^人^)>

Jay - ""Hey, there's more to that flashback why'd it cut back into the present?""

""Shh, we'll get back to that soon, Just watch the movie!""
