"Hey Alex, can I get something off my chest?"

You walk into the office. You've been on four dates with Kyle since you rented the movie theater room. You really like Kyle, and every date has only made you like him more. You're honestly surprised he isn't sick of you yet, but you're grateful.

"Ya, what's up?"

He turns away from his screen to look at you and slides off his headset.

"So, you know how Kyle and I kissed after our first date, well, all I could think of was Nick when it happened. I didn't want to tell you because I was honestly embarrassed. But now I just think of Kyle. Like I think I'm starting to lose feelings for Nick."

Alex sits in shock and what looks like slight disappointment. He takes a moment thinking about how to respond.

"That's great to hear. I mean, I still sort of wish it wasn't Kyle but I'm glad you're happy. Plus that should make things easier when the boys come over. Speaking of which, we have four days to get everything ready."

You wish that Alex would just accept that Kyle isn't a bad guy. You might even love Kyle, and Alex isn't even fully supporting you. At least he was trying to be happy for you.

"I can't wait for them to come, then I can beat all of you in fights. I'm starting to get board of beating you"

You fake a yawn and he starts to get up from his chair. You turn and start running out of the room and he chases after you. He dives at you, you fall back on the couch and push him to the floor.

"I'm heading out now, need anything from the grocery store?"

You mute yourself on stream and look over to Alex. He's swinging his keys on his fingers as he waits for your answer.

"Um, maybe a monster, I have a long stream planned for tomorrow"

He smiles, giving you a thumbs up and closing the door behind him. The positives to living with your best friend is getting them to do everything for you. Being lazy is so easy. You un mute and continue streaming. Everything has been falling into place lately.

3rd person perspective

Alex walks out of his car and grabs his bags from his trunk. He walks into the grocery store, nodding at the worker who greets him. He needed to pick some stuff up for when the boys got here and wanted to go before it was super busy on the weekend. He slowly fills the cart with various junk foods and foods you guys would need for proper meals. He grabs you a few cans of watermelon monster and a few cans for himself. He walks up to the register making small talk with the worker as she scans his items. Out of the corner of his eyes, he sees Kyle at the register next to him. He looks away stuffing the bags into his cart. He can't help but look back at Kyle.

Alex puts the last bag into his trunk and catches Kyle in the corner of his eye again. He can't help but feel the need to watch Kyle. As he brings his cart back to the cart storage he keeps his eyes on Kyle. He follows Kyle with his eyes as Kyle walks towards his car. His jaw drops when he sees Kyle help some guy out of his car, then quickly dropping a kiss on his lips. The other guy grabs Kyle's hand and they walk towards the thrift store which is in the same plaza. Alex is frozen, eyes wide. He knew he didn't like Kyle for a reason.

Alex rushes to his car and gets in. He's not quite sure what to do. He just saw Kyle cheat on you, right after you just spilled your feelings about him a couple days before. He can't decide if he should drive home and tell you or keep it to himself. He loved seeing you happy again, and he didn't want things to be awkward when Nick got there. He decides he'll tell you after the boys leave, that way you'll be happy while they're here and things with Nick won't be weird. He takes a deep breath, realizing he'll have to keep this secret for three weeks. He shakes his head trying to think about the boys visiting to get his mind off things.
