"where the fuck did you learn how to cook?"

George looks up from his food with a smug look on his face.

"Clay forced me to take some online cooking classes so he doesn't have to cook for me everyday when we live together"

You and Karl look at eachother and laugh, knowing that George basically only ever orders food. But the food he made was amazing. You all finish the food, making small jokes and just genuinely enjoying each other's company. You and Alex grab the dishes and clean up the kitchen. Karl and George head over to the office, setting things up for the stream.

"Nick, come and do the dishes instead of sitting on your ass!"

You laugh at Alex as he dries his hands and Nick walks over to the kitchen. Alex winks at him as he walks over to the office, a slight blush brushing over Nick's cheeks. Alex knew what Nick had planned for the night and Alex reminded him how nervous he was. He walks over to you, standing next to you, close enough that your shoulders are touching.

"Hey Nick, there's basically no dishes left, I can finish them."

He takes the sponge from your hand and starts to wipe the plate you were holding.

"Let me finish them, I've barely helped clean up since I got here."

You smile softly, drying your hands and sitting on the counter. You watch Nick as he washes the dishes, admiring his side profile. His hair was longer than he usually kept it but it really suited him. He noticed you looking at him.

"Enjoying the view?"

You giggle and cover your face, trying to hide the pink across your cheeks. You hop down from the counter as Nick dries his hands and hangs up the towel.

"Shut up, I was looking at your ugly ears."

He puts on a shocked face, slapping his hands up to his ears. You both laugh and he glances over at the clock hanging above the kitchen table. He looks over at you.

"Ok, grab a jacket, we're going somewhere."

You're slightly confused but just decide to go with it. You're assuming this is his surprise for you. You grab a random jacket from your closet and throw your wallet and the octopus into the pockets. You look in the mirror and straighten out the wrinkles in your pants. You lightly knock on the office door and open it a crack. You whisper that you and Nick are heading out. Karl and George look at each other and giggle and Alex gives you a thumbs up.

"You ready?"

You look over at Nick as you walk into the kitchen. You nod your head, smiling when you see the octopus hanging off of his belt. He pushes his wallet and phone into his pocket and opens the door, motioning for you to go ahead. You bow your head slightly as you walk by him, both laughing.

"So, do I get any hints?"

He laughs, opening the door on your side of the car. You sit down as he walks around to his side.

"It's supposed to be a surprise nimrod, but it's not too far, promise."

You're about to ask another time, but he looks at you, in a "don't ask" way. You sigh, putting on your seatbelt and looking over at Nick. He puts the car in reverse and pulls out of the driveway. He did that thing where he puts his hand on the head of your seat. Your heart races as you pass your gaze over him. You turn and look out the window as he begins to drive.

"Did they actually tell you what they're streaming, I forgot to ask"

Nick keeps his eyes on the road as he answers.
