"alright Nick, we're going to take you in for an x-ray, then we'll put you on an IV. We also just need to ask a few more questions afterwards."

Nick follows behind the doctor, leaving you Alex and Karl in the room. A nurse comes in, holding a clip board.

"Can I ask you guys a few questions. We want to take the best care we can."

You look back and Alex and Karl, who both nod. You know the most about what happened so you nod at the nurse.

"When did he sustain the injuries?"

"About two days ago"

"Do you know anything about what he ate and drank in that time?"

"I'm pretty sure he only left his room for water twice, and probably only ate once both days."

The nurse nods, scribbling on his clipboard. He asks a few more simple questions, eventually leaving. Soon after, Nick is lead back into the room by the doctor. He groans as the doctor helps him sit down on the bed.

"I'll let you guys know the results of the x-rays as soon as possible. For now I'm going to insert the IV."

After the doctor leaves, you sit on the bed next to Nick, lacing your fingers into his free hand.

"Feeling any better?"

He doesn't say anything, just nods squeezing your hand lightly. You lean over, placing a light kiss on his forehead.

"Ew, get a room."

You turn and glare at Alex. He laughs, you all soon joining in. For the next 20 minutes or so, you guys talk and laugh, waiting for the doctors to come back. The doctor comes in, showing pictures of Nick's left rib.

"So it's a pretty large fracture, but luckily you were already resting so you didn't make it any worse."

"So, do I need a body cast or something?"

You giggle slightly, imagining Nick's upper body covered in plaster.

"No, ribs don't get treated like regular bone breaks or fractures. You just have to take it really easy, icing the area 3 times a day. The whole process will take about six weeks."

"How long should I be icing it?"

"Just for about 30 minutes. Keep that up for 4 weeks, the two weeks after that, once a day should be good."

Nick's nods, listening as the doctor lists off some other things he has to do and all the aspects of his recovery.

"So, you'll be here for another 30 minutes or so while we wait for the IV to bring you back to proper hydration. After that, you're free to go."

"How did you get Nick to talk to you?"

Clay looks down at George in his arms, running his fingers through his hair.

"He just... did"

George cuddles closer to Clay, basically sitting in his lap.

"I just can't believe he wouldn't talk to me"

Clay kisses the top of Georges head.

"George, he was so embarrassed, he was scared to face you guys."

George nods into Clay's chest, breathing out lightly.

"Thanks for flying out, I missed you."

George and Clay spend the rest of their time alone watching cartoons, cuddled up with eachother. Sure the reason they were together wasn't great, but they were just happy to be together. While they're sitting there, Clay pulls out his phone, pulling up Kyle's Instragram. He copies down what information he can about Kyle, planning to really get on his case in the morning.
