“And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
- 2 Kings 6:17~~~
Reflection:
In 2 Kings 6, the Syrians surrounded the city of Dothan to capture Elisha. When the servant saw this, and asked Elisha what they should do, Elisha prayed that God open the young man's eyes so he will see who were with them at the moment of danger against the Syrians. And it was not only a hundred of soldiers who were with Elisha, it was a mountain of army with horses and chariots of fire!
When practicing your walk by faith and not by sight right when you are in the "wilderness", God knew it wouldn't be so easy. You will be having a lot of blind spots that the devil will use in attacking you. Human as you are, you are afraid of the unknown battles that you are going to fight. There is a spiritual realm where you have your spiritual battle.
There are times that because of what we see in front of us, we cannot see what God is setting before us. We only see the horizon but not what was beyond it.
But God is much more powerful than our problems, fear and doubts. Just like Elisha, pray that God opens your eyes so you may see His greatness. May you be able to look beyond your fear, grief, failure and challenges in life. Look past the mountain of obstacles. Look unto Christ.
The moment you received the Lord Jesus Christ in your life, the moment you put your faith in Him, the moment you surrendered your life to Him... God became your strength. Your fear does not stop God from operating. Your failures do not stop God from creating a platform for you to excel. There is nothing that can block our God from doing the impossible...
Only if you choose to trust God. Only if you surrender to Him all the things you've been facing right now. Then watch God do amazing things through your life.
Plant God’s Word in your heart. In Psalms 119:11 the Psalmist declared, “Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”
Treasure His Word. Bury His Word within the soil of your heart. Let His Word become the Bedrock of your heart and soul. Let His Word build a foundation and framework that cannot be moved. Plant yourself in His Word and He will prosper you.
And then act on it. So that you will not sin against Him. So your relationship with Him and your knowledge about Him will grow stronger, deeper, firmer. Like a tree in the wilderness.
The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:6, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” God is in control of your increase. Surrender to Him and allow His Word to produce His fruit in your life. His timing is perfect so don’t let the wilderness stop you.
Keep moving forward. Stay connected to Christ. Don’t let the wilderness keep you bound to blindness. May the Lord open your eyes to see His provision of help, and to see His power and not the things that causes you to fear and blind you from seeing what God has stored for you.
Will God open your eyes? If you ask Him and it is by His will, yes, He will.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, open my eyes, Lord, so I may see Your provision of help. Open my eyes, Lord, so I may witness Your glory beyond what I can only perceive. May I see Your work in me and through me beyond my fears and doubts. Knowing You, having a deeper relationship with You is what I desire, O Lord. Through Jesus Christ's Name, Amen.
