"Darling are you planning on coming home?" Win bit his lip, his eyes meeting with the older's albeit he was quick to break contact.
"Uh, well, not really no." He said, hoping his mother would just except his measly response for what it was.
"Honey I'm confused, I thought you said you wouldn't return to your apartment for a while." He suppressed a grunt at her recollection.
" Yeah I'm not. I'm staying with Bright for a few days, your remember him, yeah?""Yes of course, the gentleman. I suppose that's fine, relay my greetings and make sure you behave yourself dear." He inwardly smirked at her approval, he wasn't really in the mood to elaborate his decision so he was thankful for her lack of probing.
"Of course mother, love you!"
"Worried, is she?" Bright asked, gesturing for Win to join him.
The mattress dipped underneath his weight as he shuffled in search for a comfortable position.
"Yeah, I was supposed to be back today. So I guess she was feeling a bit anxious, you know how mothers are." He chuckled before immediately pressing his lips into a firm line. He cursed his stupid mind for it's insensitivity.Bright chuckled upon receiving the boy's grim expression.
"Oh, nah you're fine. It's whatever. I mean, I'd rather her stay in America than have her here knowing she doesn't give a single fuck about me. " Win nodded his head in understanding.
He pitied the boy tremendously, he couldn't ever imagine living his life without the attentive care and love from his mother.
Just imagining it made him want to call her back and thank her for being a part of his life."Your Aunt, I remember meeting her. ...Do you have a good relationship with her?" He dived head first into the question, hoping Devine wouldn't be brought up.
Bright snorted at the idea of him and his aunt having any kind of rapport with one another, just the idea of it was horrific.
"Oh no, definitely not, she's a bitch." Bright chuckled ."The only reason she's here, showing any kind of attention towards me is cause Mom's paying her, with my own money mind you."
"Oh and don't even get me started with Miss Achara, don't know what that girl's got on my aunt but she's somehow coaxed her into trying to get us married."
Win absentmindedly traced his mark with his finger, drawing circles around the 'BW' that glowed in appreciation of his attention.Win zoned out amid Bright uttering something akin to Devine wearing more makeup on her face then he had flour in his pantry, but he couldn't be sure.
He wondered whether Bright ever got lonely, without a mother or a sibling to rant to.
Sure the kid was annoying, but Mick was his brother, he loved him to death.
" Do you have someone that...you know, is there for you." His solemn eyes met Bright's that were fixed on his own profoundly.
"What I mean is, when we're like...going through stuff it always helps when there's someone there that we can just share what we're going through with." He clarified. Of course he knew Reece was Bright's closes mate, but he wasn't sure of how deep their friendship run. Bright didn't seem like the guy that would jump on the first opportunity to express his feelings.
Bright looked him over before nodding.
"I mean, Reece is my best friend. He's helped me through a lot and I honestly don't know where I'd be without him."
He straightened his shoulders.
"But there's obviously, things that I can't help but keep to myself. The more deep thoughts...the more tormenting thoughts..." They shared a look of understanding as Win gripped his hand, rubbing his thumb in his palm.ooOOoo
"He isn't picking up?" Her cold gaze fixed on the anxious man before her.
"No."
"Fuck!" She grunted, "Tay's going to kill me." She dialled his number again, praying for his ass to pick up.
