She asked me once, "How do you break up with someone without inflicting too much pain?"
What a question. I laughed mentally.
Then I shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe give a warning?"
"Like a thunder before the actual rain?" she wondered out loud.
I wanted to tell her I was wrong. The thunder came, sure, but I blatantly ignored it. Cold replies, very few to none updates on what she's doing, and the most evident one...she told me she's tired of it all.
Stupid of me to think those were normal. What a fool I am to believe it was just a phase, that we'll get pass through it.
The rain came right after. Our relationship was over.
And it didn't hurt any less. No warning signs could reduce the pain. No thunder, no lightning. There's no other way to make it lighter.
If emotions are involved, it will always hurt. And it will hurt badly.
