you don't listen
to a word I say,
you don't look at me
in the eye,
you don't try
to understand what I feel.you just stood there,
looking down on me,
raising your brows
with challenging stares.you always shut me off
whenever I try to explain,
you always say I'm still young
and my opinions and knowledge
are lacking.you always say I'm wrong
even when it's clear I'm right,
because you don't wanna admit
to yourself
that a kid like me
knows more than you.you say you're an educator
you say you'll guide us
you say you're older
but you always belittle me-
underestimating my capabilities
invalidating my opinions
and disregarding my ideas.you said you're always right
'cause you are the ruler
and we are just your subjects.s i n | "the ruler"
