Adam’s POV

I walked out the back door and walked across town over to a farm, it had brush hiding a river near a road. There were sheep all along the river drinking from the river, with no Shepard nearby. It’s my lucky day, there sitting ducks, totally defenseless!

I crossed the road, walked right through the river and pounced on a sheep. I sunk my teeth into it and jerked, its neck broke as blood filled my mouth. There was a ram about to charge me for killing the sheep. I opened my mouth and the sheep I had just killed hit the ground. The ram charged at me but I simply shoved my hand into its chest and felt around for the heart, when I found it I ripped it out and heard distressed ‘baahing’ of a sheep. I turned around and a small lamb was trying to nurse from the first sheep I had killed. It looked so scared and weak, but like the heartless person I am when I hunt, I just put its innocence aside.

‘If I don’t get enough to eat I’ll end up hurting Drew out of hunger.’ I thought as I approached the small lamb. I killed it quickly, grabbed my kills and started walking across the road with them in my hands. I had just crossed the road when I heard yelling. I turned to see a teenage boy with a staff in his hand looking at me coldly. That’s the Shepard’s son. I grabbed the lamb and held it out, showing him I was merciless when I hunted. He gaped at the sight of the dead lamb. I put it over my shoulder and started walking into the woods.

I got to the end of the woods, near the back yard and ate. I got back inside and Drew was lying on the floor covered in blood. What the fuck?! There was a note on the coffee table. I picked it up.

‘I drank way too much blood. Don’t freak out. It’s just cold shock. I’ll be better when I wake up. Cold shock is just like a vampire stomach ache. Please don’t be upset. Love you. –Drew’ It read.

“My beautiful blooded lamb, what am I going to do with you?” I said, laying him in our bed. I lied beside him, wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him close to me. I watched him sleep for a little while, I was right he was so cute the way he slept.

I woke up later that evening and Drew was holding me but he was awake, daydreaming into my chest.

“Good morning, my blooded lamb.” I said looking at him. He looked at me and smiled.

“What, Blooded lamb?” He said.

“You’re a vampire, I could hurt you badly with one bite, but I eat sheep instead, It makes sense for me to call you my blooded lamb, I could kill you but at the same time…”

“I could kill you.” He said answering my unfinished sentence.

“But instead of killing each other we love each other.”

“Yup, and I’ll love you until my end, even if it means I’ll end up in Hell scorching in flames.” I said.

“Yes, the preachers will laugh at us from Heaven saying ‘Eat that you blasphemers!’” He said.

“You damned heathens!” I said laughing with him.

“Yeah I love it when people say things like that, they’ve got it all wrong, because I thought Jesus was all about teaching tolerance and stuff.”

“Yeah, this guy taught love and caring but his followers taught stoning and hanging.”

“Can we go sledding?” Drew asked.

“Sledding on what?”

“It’s snowed while we slept.” He informed me.

“Cool, let’s go sledding.”
