The atmosphere in the exhibition hall was filled with laughter, creativity, and warmth as Jimin tried to control his mischievous son, Jae. Despite Jimin's best efforts to stay clean, his white clothes were now dotted with colorful splashes, courtesy of Jae, who was more focused on having fun than keeping the paint on the canvas. Jae's laughter echoed as he gleefully chased his father with a paintbrush, smearing bright colors in his wake.
"Jae, stop!" Jimin giggled, clearly enjoying the playful chase despite his protests. The small room they were in buzzed with the joy of their game, drawing smiles from onlookers. Even Jungkook, busy with a potential client, couldn't help but smile warmly at the sight of his little family enjoying themselves. For a moment, everything seemed perfect.
But the joyful moment was suddenly interrupted when a large, imposing man grabbed Jae's shoulder harshly, causing him to cry out in pain. Jimin's protective instincts immediately flared up. “Don’t touch him!” he yelled, rushing forward and pushing the man’s hand away from Jae. The anger in Jimin's eyes was fierce as he glared at the man, but before he could say more, the guard roughly pulled both Jimin and Jae away.
Jungkook, noticing the commotion, quickly left his client and hurried after them. His heart sank as he saw Jimin stumble and fall after being pushed by the guard. Without hesitation, Jungkook stepped in, helping Jimin to his feet.
"Don't you think that you are rude?" Jungkook said sharply, his voice full of authority as he addressed the guard.
"They weren’t following the rules," the guard muttered defensively.
"These two are my special guests. They can do whatever they want," Jungkook replied firmly. "And in case you forgot, I never set any rules for my exhibition."
"But sir..." the guard started to protest, but Jungkook cut him off with a single, stern word: "Leave."
The guard bowed apologetically before walking away, leaving Jungkook to check on Jimin and Jae. Jimin knelt down, frantically checking Jae’s body for any signs of injury, his hands trembling with worry. "Are you hurt? Tell me if you're hurt, Jae," Jimin asked, his voice a mixture of concern and fear.
"I'm okay, Appa," Jae reassured him, though his small voice was shaken.
Jungkook knelt beside them, his face full of regret. "I'm so sorry, Jimin. I never wanted anything like this to happen."
Jimin looked up at Jungkook, his expression softening. "It's okay, hyung. We're fine. You don’t need to apologize. If anything, we should be sorry for causing a scene."
But Jae, ever the sweet child, interrupted, pouting as he looked up at Jungkook. "I'm sorry, Kookie appa. I didn’t know I couldn’t run. I was just having fun."
Jungkook’s heart melted at the sight of Jae’s innocent face. He ruffled Jae’s hair gently. "It’s not your fault, Jae. Don’t apologize. How about we go back inside and finish your painting? I bet some people would love to see your artwork."
Jae's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Really? People will see my painting?"
Jungkook grinned. "Yes, and maybe someone will even want to buy it."
"Buy it? I can get money?" Jae’s face lit up with the possibilities. "Then I can buy Poli!" he exclaimed, referring to his favorite toy car.
Jimin chuckled at his son's enthusiasm, his earlier worries melting away as he watched Jae’s excitement grow. Jungkook’s promise had sparked a new determination in the little boy, and Jae’s tiny face was full of concentration as he returned to his easel, gripping his paintbrush with newfound purpose.
"Appa, I’ll make a lot of paintings and buy you a new shirt!" Jae announced, his eyes shining with pride and determination.
Jimin couldn’t help but laugh at his son’s adorable sense of responsibility. "I can’t wait," he said, smiling as he watched Jae bite his tongue in concentration while painting.
The rest of the day passed peacefully, with Jimin sitting by Jae’s side as he worked hard on his paintings, determined to earn enough to buy his beloved toy and his father a new shirt. Jungkook watched them from a distance, his heart swelling with love for the two most important people in his life. It was moments like these—simple, yet filled with love—that made everything worthwhile.
