Jimin was a bundle of nerves, pacing back and forth in front of Jungkook as they waited for Jae. His heart raced, and his body couldn’t seem to calm down. His stomach churned, making him feel sick with anxiety. Twenty minutes had passed since they arrived, after Namjoon called Jimin to come and pick up his son. The wait felt like an eternity.

"Jimin, come sit with me," Jungkook gently urged, sensing how stressed Jimin was.

"It's okay," Jimin replied sharply, not even looking at him. His eyes were locked on the door, his entire body tense and filled with nervous energy. He felt guilty, overwhelmed, and terrified all at once. Each second that passed only made it worse. He couldn’t escape the suffocating feeling that he had somehow failed his son by letting him endure this ordeal.

Just then, a familiar, precious voice broke through Jimin's thoughts. "Appa!"

Jimin froze, his breath catching in his throat. Slowly, he turned towards the sound that his heart had been aching to hear. There he was—Jae, his little boy, running towards him. The sight of his son hit him like a wave, tightening his chest and filling his eyes with tears. His knees buckled, and before Jae even reached him, Jimin collapsed to the ground. His emotions crashed over him, and he sobbed uncontrollably, unable to face Jae at that moment. All the guilt, worry, and fear he’d bottled up came pouring out in his tears.

He felt a small hand touch his head, and then Jae’s tiny hands gently cupped his face, wiping away his tears. Jae’s touch was tender, full of love and innocence. "Jae miss Jiminie Appa," the little boy said softly.

Jimin’s lip quivered, a sob caught in his throat as he nodded, unable to speak. He opened his arms wide, silently asking for a hug, needing the comfort only his son could give him.

"Oh my Lord, my son..." Jimin whispered, his voice thick with emotion as he wrapped his arms around Jae. He held him tightly, sobbing into his small shoulder. The moment was so raw, so emotional, that everyone around them felt the weight of it.

Jae, sensing his father's pain, clung to him. "Appa..." the boy whimpered softly.

"I'm here, Appa is here," Jimin whispered, his voice shaking. He pressed his face against Jae's hair, breathing in the familiar scent of his child, a scent that had been missing from his life for far too long.

"Home," Jae whispered, his little voice filled with longing. "Jae wants to go home."

"Yes, baby. Let’s go home," Jimin said softly, his heart bursting with relief. He stood, picking Jae up, holding him as close as he could. Turning towards Namjoon and Seokjin, Jimin gave them a small, grateful smile, thanking them without words. Then, without looking back, he left the orphanage with Jungkook by his side, cradling Jae in his arms.

"Let’s go home, baby bear," Jungkook whispered as they walked away.

Back at home, Jimin sat with Jungkook in the quiet, the weight of everything finally settling in. He looked at Jungkook, the man who had stood by him through every storm. "Thank you," Jimin said softly, his voice filled with gratitude. It was the only thing he could say. How could he possibly thank Jungkook enough for everything he had done? Words seemed too small.

But Jungkook shook his head. "Don’t thank me," he said firmly. "You should press charges against my family. I’m sorry for everything they’ve put you and Jae through."

Jimin’s heart ached. He could never hate Jungkook, despite all the pain that Jungkook’s family had caused. But he didn’t have the strength for more battles. He had his son back, and that was all that mattered. Going to court, dealing with more chaos—it was too much.

"It’s hard..." Jimin whispered, his bottom lip quivering. Big, heavy tears rolled down his cheeks as the weight of it all crashed over him. The relief of having Jae back, the pain of what they’d gone through, it was overwhelming.

"I’m sorry," Jungkook apologizing for the tears, for the situation, for everything.

Before, Jae had always been the one to comfort him, to help him erase his pain. But tonight, it was Jungkook. Without a word, Jungkook wrapped his arm around Jimin’s waist and pulled him close. Jimin collapsed into his chest, sobbing into the broad, comforting warmth that was Jungkook. Jungkook held him tightly, not letting go, his strong arms providing the security Jimin so desperately needed.

"You got your son back," Jungkook whispered softly into Jimin’s hair, his voice full of affection. "And maybe now... maybe now you have me back too."

Jimin cried harder, his tears soaking Jungkook’s shirt. He had his baby bear back—his precious Jae. And now, in the arms of the man he had always loved, maybe, just maybe, he had his lover back too.

"My baby bear is lucky to have you," Jungkook whispered through his tears. "And I’m the luckiest guy to have known you."
