Chapter twelve

Hey everyone, I hope you're enjoying the story. I just had a spurt of wanting to write so I finished off the chapter for yall and will probably start another. I've been quite stressed and overwhelmed recently because of GCSES but I'll try to get back into writing this story.

Also I feel like my writing style has changed and gotten better so it will probably be better writing from now on.

"Wait, it will be weird if we both walk in at the same time" I gasped stopping beside Loki.

"I don't see how it will be weird?" He murmured over his shoulder as he carried on walking. I caught up to him tugging on his arm. "So you want to walk in with me now" he smirks as his arm slithers around my waist, pulling me into him enough so I have to place my hands on his chest.

Shaking myself out of my mind,  I crane my head to look up at him, "No, I just wanted to go in first, seeing as you're normally the one late". He grinned sharply, stepping back and releasing me from his hold. I still felt him, the ghost of his warm around holding me. I turn after a moment and walk away from him with a skip - and an ache - in my step. I dare a a glance over my shoulder to see Loki leaning against the wall, arms folded and eyes darting over my body, drinking in what he'd recently had.

I decide to give him a show down the corridor, spinning a couple times and blowing a kiss which he so handsomely caught. For my final trick I pulled out a knife and threw it right at his face. I watched it fly through the air, knowing he'd catch it. He glared at me and I knew what that meant. It meant I was gonna pay for that later. He directed his chin towards where the others were, reminding me I had somewhere to get to.

I reach the kitchen looking maybe a little too cheerful. No one seems to notice and I skip over and sit down next to Sam who was deep in conversation with Bucky. I rested my chin on my hands with my elbows on my table. My mind raced at what I'd done moments before with Loki. How he had touched me. Claimed mI small smirk tugged at my lips.

As if on command Loki walked in and sat at the other end of the table. When he walked in my mind took me back to mere minutes before seeing him shirtless, vulnerable. My mind raced at what he'd done to me. How he had touched me. Claimed me. I scrunch my eyebrows and sink into my chair, crossing my arms and letting out a quiet huff. What had I done 

"Who's the lucky guy?" I hear Nat giggle and I snap my head up to see the red head staring right at me, a smirk plastered all over her face.

Everyone seems to turn to enter the conversation and I instantly sit up. "What? What are you talking about?" Oh damn. What if they knew. What if they heard. My cheeks reddened at the thought.

She pointed to the side of her neck and my hands instantly reach to mine. Fuck. The hickeys are visible. My heart starts to quicken as I race to find a possible explanation for the love marks on my neck. "Ohhh that, I burnt myself on my curling iron." I let out a weary breath and force a chuckle of amusement, "There is no lucky man unfortunately", not a total lie. I wasn't Loki's. Yet. Out of the corner of my eye I see Loki lean forward in his seat and I strain my eyes to not look at him. "Can we please change the subject" I say seeing as everyone was still look at me like something is wrong.

"You're burning up, there's clearly someone" Sam says elbowing me in the arm. I stiffen at the hit and I bite back a remark which would've made me look guilty.

"It's just really hot in here that's all" I stutter as Tony and pepper walk over with bowls of pasta for everyone. Thank god, I have been saved from any more questioning.

I glance over at Loki and he trails his eyes up me to meet my gaze. Hunger filled them. He licks his lips ever so slightly and I can feel my core tighten but try to ignore it. I simply lower my gaze and start to find the table very interesting.
