Chapter 14-Parents

-Y/n's POV-

Today's training was exhausting, Master Shifu was apparently "breaking me down and building me back up again" for the whole week. I stared outside, taking in the view. Actually I was quite pleased with the placement of my room, because of how much better the scenery looks.

As I stood near the window, I sighed at the misty mountainside, and slowly dozed off to the sound of the everlasting waterfall. Snoring softly, I continued to sleep, before being startled awake by a knock. The aftermath was me losing my balance and falling to the ground with a thump.

Turns out the person who disturbed my beauty sleep was the infamous Crane. Crane's figure leaned against the doorframe and winked, "Hey Y/N." Realising his mistake he facepalmed and grunted in annoyance, "Nope definitely not tha-", before he realised he opened the door accidentally.

I turned around to find Crane's beak open wide, and shuffled nervously from where he stood. I quirked up an eyebrow while still remaining on the floor, before getting up myself and questioning him.

"So? Why did you interrupt me during my slumber?" I stepped forward.

His eyes went wide and stuttered,"I-I-I thought...", before trailing off and regaining his composure.

"I thought you were exhausted from today's training, especially from Shifu trying to "break you down".. So.. would you like to go for an afternoon stroll perhaps?"

I looked down in thought, before agreeing, "I believe I don't really have anything to do today, alright, I'll go."

-Second Person POV-

You've been fighting beside the Furious Five for almost two years, you've gained the trust of everyone in the Valley of Peace, after swearing the oath of the Phoenix Warrior.

"I do solemnly and sincerely declare and affirm that I will well and truly serve the Valley of Peace as the Phoenix Warrior with fairness, integrity, diligence and impartiality, and that I will, to the best of my power, cause the peace to be kept and preserved and prevent all offences against animals and property." You said.

In the last two years, besides fighting alongside the heroes of the Valley of Peace, you've also been volunteering to help other villagers to gather plants up in the mountaintops as your flight gave you an advantage. By about a year of doing volunteer work, you've almost visited every mountain in China, every mountain but one. The mountain of time.

After the talk on the day of Master Oogway's funeral, you faced the traumatic times of your past, and followed Master Shifu to train constantly everyday trying to calm your conflicted mind.

Finally, your nightmares started to ease, and your mind was at peace. Knowing this, Crane decided to take you there to explore, of course if you hadn't been at peace with the past then he wouldn't have thought to bring you there, you were at peace, right?

-Y/N's POV-

We were soaring through the sky, facing North. Crane said that it was "supposed to be a surprise" but sadly because of how far it was, we'd have to fly. I was feeling drained, but brushed it away when Crane announced that we were nearing the infamous mountain.

He steadied himself, flapping his wings softly to land, before nodding to me to also do the same.

I felt at peace somehow, looking at the horizon was soothing, just as the view from my room was. My small smile faltered. However, a pang of sadness was felt, this mountain was where my parents had died.

-Crane's POV-

I glanced at y/n with sympathy, she must be thinking about her parents. I admit, "I know this was supposed to be a simple stroll, but as you know today is a special day... and I wanted to.."
