Chapter 6-The Fight

Y/n's POV

Navigating into the night sky, I felt refreshed from the tension that was laid on me minutes ago, I should really do this more often.

I dipped down, spreading out my wings, I glided across the Valley of Peace.

Spotting five blurry blobs up in the sky, I followed them towards the thread of hope.

~Around 2 hours later~

It was slowly turning into dawn, staying high in the sky, I lacked oxygen, so I flew a tad bit lower. Breathing in the crisp air of dawn, it cleared my mind, narrowing my eyes, I saw the Five slowly coming to a halt.

Looking forward, I saw a magnificent view of the thread of hope, a rope bridge that was stretched between mountain peaks, above a huge abyss enveloped in mist.

I dipped down and glided near the Furious Five, but camouflaged myself in a tree.

My eyes widened.

Tai Lung was racing across the long and brittle bridge that led to the intersection of the thread of hope.

He stopped at the intersection between the bridge he had just crossed and the thread of hope, Tigress and the five were on one side of the bridge, while Tai Lung was on the other. The tiger and the leopard glared at each other, they both drew their teeth back in a snarl. Tai Lung growled and got on all fours, running across the bridge.

He was halfway across when Tigress shouted, "Cut it!"

The others immediately abided by their leader's order and slashed at the ropes, securing the safety of the Valley of Peace. Tai Lung was almost upon them when Tigress cut the final rope. But Tai Lung was inches away from arriving.

I gasped, Tigress had sacrificed herself and launched herself in front of Tai Lung, kicking him while doing a backflip onto the now-saved bridge that the others were struggling to hold onto. Tai Lung grabbed onto one of the supports of the bridge and tornado front flipped onto the bridge, while Tigress landed onto the bridge successfully from the backflip she just pulled off.

My jaw dropped. The two felines ended up in the middle of the bridge just as it started to tumble into the unknown below. Tigress maintained a kung fu pose and threatened him, while Tai Lung casually leaned on one of the ropes, checking out his well-sharpened claws.

"Where's the Dragon Warrior?" He demanded.

Tigress glared at Tai Lung, still maintaining her pose, she growled, "How do you know you're not looking at her?"

Tai Lung laughed menacingly, "You think I'm a fool? I know you're not the Dragon Warrior. None of you! Although I would love to defeat the Phoenix Warrior on the way."

The Five exchanged confused looks.

"She is among us right now." Tai Lung grinned.

Tigress growled in anger, smiling, Tai Lung walked onto the rope, balancing without effort.

"I heard how he fell out of the sky on a ball of fire..." Getting down from the rope, he walked towards Tigress on the brittle wood of the bridge, "that he's a warrior unlike anything the world has ever seen."

Monkey paused, "Po?!"

Lifting his fist up in the air, he spoke, "So that is his name... Po. Finally, a worthy opponent. Our battle will be legendary!"

At last, Tigress made the first move to strike, throwing a few punches, she holds up a pretty good fight, but Tai Lung gains the upper hand when she flung him off the bridge, making the old bridge vertical, Tai Lung swung himself high up in the air, getting ready to punch Tigress.

My feathers were prickling, I got nervous as there was a chance for Tai Lung to deliver the killing blow. Thankfully, she had turned the bridge upside down, causing Tai Lung to punch through the wood. They threw punches for a while, but Tigress was grabbed by the leg and threw upwards by the leopard.

Almost falling into the void, Tigress unsheathed her claws, and held onto Tai Lung's wrist, Tai Lung screeched in pain, leaving them both still fighting under the bridge, one paw grabbing onto the wood for support.

"We've got this. Help her!" Monkey said to Crane and Viper, sending them off to assist Tigress.

Launching Tigress back up onto the bridge, he swung himself upwards and kicked Tigress, sending her well over half across the bridge. While she was stunned, Tai Lung stayed on the ropes and twisted them. The ropes closed onto Tigress's throat, choking her.

I flew down onto where Monkey and Mantis were, they were surprised, "No time to explain, Monkey, go."

At that moment, Viper lunged herself at Tai Lung, which caused him to let go of the ropes.

Tigress is freed, but plummets down into the gorge, but Crane manages to catch her. Damn...

Viper wrapped herself around Tai Lung's neck and wrist, using his own strength to her advantage. Tai Lung got a paw around Viper's throat and squeezed it.

Viper was choking, "y/n!"

I leapt into action, and kicked Tai Lung in the chest away from Viper, sending him crashing onto the slats, and a scar too. Tai lung got back to his paws and started running on all fours back to us, switching between ropes. Crane flew up with Tigress holding onto his legs, scanning his surroundings.

"Mantis! And Y/n..?"

Mantis whipped his end of the rope, as I stood away, somehow only one side of the rope bridge remained. The whip sent a wave crashing toward Tai Lung. The rope whipped Tai Lung in the face, leaving him stunned. The Five took their chance and saw their chance to defeat Tai Lung.

"Now!" Tigress shouted, working as a team, the Five kicked Tai Lung's ass in every way possible. Crane then wrapped Tai Lung in one of the ropes, and Tigress finally slashed the last rope holding him up. Leaving the strong leopard falling down into the abyss, disappearing into the mist.

Mantis whipped his end of the rope, returning his teammates safely to the mountain. The Five was breathless from the now-ended fight, but relieved, they turned around to see me, they were shocked.

"Y/n? Why are you here?" Tigress questioned, she wasn't expecting me to be here fighting along their side, ..or well watching from the sidelines. "I got curious, plus Po and Master Shifu needed to bond, so I figured I'd tag along." I shrugged.

"Y/n?  But you're going to get yourself killed!" Crane stared at you in worry.

"Yeah no, I'm gonna live, don't you worry. I still beat you in sparring, remember?" I smiled.

Tigress held up her paw to silence everyone, "Guys, wait." She noticed that the other end of the bridge was circling the mountain, as if Tai Lung was still alive. Her eyes went wide with dread, the rope was pulled in half. With a crash, he suddenly appeared behind us all. We turned around, eyes widened.

Tai Lung smiled smugly, "Shifu taught you well."

He striked Monkey in the lower abdomen, leaving him paralyzed as a wave of chi passed through where Tai Lung had struck him, he fell to the ground stiffly, we stared at him in fear, slowly backing away.

"But he didn't teach you everything." Tai Lung got into a ready position to strike.

bro this took shorter than i thought but this was awesome to write
