Chapter 5-Just Bad News

I'm so terribly sorry for not updating for a week, school's been kind of harsh but I'm managing (thankfully)

Crane's POV

I was on my way to the dinning hall when a certain animal followed me, hearing the clicking and clacking from their talons, I quickly knew who this mysterious somebody was.

"Hey Crane, what are you up to?" They caught up with me and chirped.

I turned my head over to them and smiled, "Just going to try Po's cooking, I'm assuming you're doing the same?"

Y/n laughed and they looked at me, wiggling their eyebrows, "Well, guess what, I'M also cooking!"

"Wow, I can't wait to try yours, you seem like quite the cook." Crane winked.

Y/n grinned for a bit then furrowed their eyebrows, "Wait.. Hold on.. I never cooked in the jade palace before... Ohhh I see what's going on here.."

"Uhhhh.." I grew nervous, I hope they didn't notice that I erm, uh, may have checked them out for some time at Mr Ping's noodle shop..

They rolled their eyes playfully and left to help Po to prepare the oncoming meal, leaving me with my own thoughts.

My heart was racing, that was too close.. my thoughts went back to the crane again, they're fierce.. amazing.. intelligent..., I blushed.

CRANE! What are you thinking?? STOP??

"I'll just go eat..."I mumbled.

Y/n's POV

Po and I were just cooking for the Furious Five, yeah, so normal.

Po was preparing the soup while I prepared the noodles.

He said while cutting a radish mid-air, "So I'm like, fine, you may be a wolf, you may be the scariest bandit in Haijin Province..."

"...but you're a lousy tipper." Po explained his crazy fantasy, I rolled my eyes, you can't be serious.

Crane asked like he was listening to some legend, "Really? So... how'd you get out of there alive?"

"I mean, I didn't actually say that, but I thought it... in... in my mind."

Finishing my part in preparing the noodles, I stayed where I stood and tried my best to lift up the strainer holding the strained noodles with my talons.

"Po, here."

Po mumbled with gratitude, flipping some bowls and lined them up on his arm then ladled some soup into all of them.

"If he... could read my mind, he'd have been like," He made a funny face, "Wha..?" Bowls of soup in arm, "Order up! Hope you like it."

I hummed as I helped Po hand out the bowls to the five(minus Tigress).

We both stood in the kitchen, well Crane technically is standing but no, we both awaited for any feedback from the quick meal we prepared.

Mantis was immediately stuffing his face with the noodles we made and looked like he was in heaven, "Oh my gosh, this is really good!"

"Aw shucks, you should try our dad's, well, he actually knows the secret ingredient.." I replied to the compliment.

"Yeah, what Y/n said." Po was doing the same thing as Mantis, stuffing his face full of the noodles we made.

Viper also looked like she was in heaven, "What are you talking about? This is amazing."

"Wow, you both are really good cooks." Crane also complimented, after the compliment, I just realised I was blushing. STOP.
