《 Chapter 1 》

I can feel myself floating towards somewhere. I don't know where I am or where I'm going. I look around and see flesh like walls surrounding me. I look beside me and saw the two nomes that have been sucked into the screen with me. I reached out for my hand towards to one of them and grabbed their hand. The nome noticed and looked at me then look at the other nome, grabbing their foot. I then pull them towards me and hug them so we wouldn't separate. I can feel us going ups and downs, bumping onto the flesh walls. Then out of nowhere, I saw a giant eye, looking at me as we pass by. Seeing that eye terrifies me. Why is this place made out of flesh and why is there a giant eye? I look ahead of me and saw a bright light. I held onto the nomes tightly and closed my eyes as we head towards the light.

I feel the coldness and everything turned dark. I didn't get a chance to get ready for an impact then felt like I've been thrown and hit something that what seems to be glass. My body hit the cold, hard ground. I opened my eyes and see the unfamiliar surroundings. I looked at the nomes I've been holding and put them down.

"Are you two alright?" I asked them. They both look at me and nodded. We all got up and looked around us. We are on the middle of the sidewalk and in front of us is an empty street. It appears we are in a city; a dark, gloomy one. The city feels abandoned since there's nobody around us. It was quiet... too quiet.

I turned behind us and saw a television with a shattered screen and tiny glass shards on the floor. 'Did we just come out from that television?' I thought. My thoughts have been interrupted when I feel myself getting wet from the rain droplets falling on my skin. I looked up and see the rain have started pouring down. "We should head into one of the buildings to get away from the rain. I don't think the rain will end anytime soon," I convinced the nomes.

The three of us ran towards the nearest building and head inside. We dried ourselves and walked around. This place is really old and abandoned. We passed by many clothing that are lying around. I wonder what happened to the people living here? We walked upstairs and entered an apartment. Seems that no one's home, we kept on walking in a dark, cold hallway and found a bedroom. Seeing that nobody's in the room, we pushed the door close for safety and look around. There are some drawings on the wall at the corner of the room. I noticed it was just a bunch of eyes which sent shivers down my spines. It reminds me of the giant eye I saw before. I walked towards the bed and it was too high to climb up. I shift my head to my left and see one of the nomes were on top of the other just to try to reach the bed. I chuckled at the sight, went towards them, and grab the nome at the top. I threw the nome upwards and it landed on the bed and I did the same to the other nome. I climb up from the lamp stand and hop onto bed. I lie down tiredly and feel a nome laying down next to me as the other sat beside me. I cuddled the nome that was right next to me as the nome laid down beside me. I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.

(Time Skip)

I woke up on bed and feel the nome I've snuggled with still asleep. I carefully let go of the nome, looked towards the window and see the rain is gone, but it was still dark outside. 'Strange, shouldn't it be bright outside by now?' I thought to myself. The bed softly shifted and see both of the nomes have woken up. "Good morning you two, or at least it should be morning," I greeted them. They both sat up. "Did you two had a good rest?" I asked them. They both looked at me and only reply with a nod. My stomach sent out a loud grumble.

"We should check the kitchen to see if there's any food there. I haven't eaten in a while," I said. The three if us jump down from the bed and I lifted one of the nomes to open the door. We all walked out of the room, down further in the hallway, and entered the kitchen. I saw the fridge and tried pulling the door open, but I couldn't open it on my own. Luckily, the two nomes noticed and helped me open the fridge. Once the fridge door opened, I pouted at the scene in front of me when I see there was nothing inside to eat. I closed to fridge and walked towards the kitchen counter with the nomes besides me. I grab the nomes and threw them over the top counter one by one and climbed up. When I got on the counter top, me and the nomes look around for food. I opened two of the cabinets but one was filled with dust and some unused paper bags and the other is just a bunch of small jars that is filled with salt, sugar, and other stuff. I closed the cabinet and sighed as I feel my stomach grumbled again.

I felt my skirt been pulled and look below me. I see each of the nomes holding a piece of bread that they have found in one of the cabinets. I smiled and took the piece of bread from one of them and pat its head. "Thank you, both of you." I checked the bread if there's any mold and luckily there's none. I sat down on the edge counter top as the nomes did the same. I started eating the bread and see the other nome is still holding the bread.

'Um, do you two by any chance, eat?" I asked them. They both shook their head as a reply. 'Huh, I should have known since they don't have any mouth at all' I mentally face palmed. I kept on eating the bread as we all sat quietly. It was very quiet and awkward. I sighed, "I wish you two can talk, so at least it wouldn't be this quiet," I thought out loud. "But at the same time, it's better than being lonely here. I'm glad you two are here with me. Who knows what would happen if I ended up here alone?" One of the nome nodded as an agreement.

After finishing eating the bread, the nome who held the other bread handed the bread to me. I decided that I should keep it for later just in case I get hungry again. I grab one of the paper bags I found on one of the cabinets and insert the bread in. I folded it seal in the bread and put it in my front pocket. I got up and look at my two nome companions. "Now that we're all done here, how about we go around and explore this city?" I asked both of them. They both looked at each other then look at me and gave me a nod.

I walked up to the closed window then open it. Looking around, I see a closed dumpster that we can land on. I landed on the lid and called out to the nomes to jump down. They both jump down one by one as I catch both of them. We hop down to the broken television and landed on the ground safely. I grabbed one of the nomes' hand as the other held the other's hand. The three of us started walking in the streets, starting on our new adventure.
