3rd pov
It has been a week since (Y/N), Chip, and Ted first arrived at Pale City. As each day passed by, they have realized there's no such thing as night or day in the city. The weather is always cloudy and it hasn't shown any sunlight or at least brightness above the clouds. There are times it rains, which they don't mind at all. While going around, they have seen these "people," but they don't seem to be human anymore because of their non-existence faces. They noticed that they mostly spent their entire time gazing towards the television, watching whatever's on the screen. The three were afraid of them, but they figured that as long as they don't disturb them, they'll be safe. Not knowing what to call them, (Y/N) decided to name them "The Viewers."
(Y/N), Ted, and Chip mostly spent their time scavenge around one building to another to search for food and supplies. As they first search around, (Y/N) found a book of sign languages for beginners and reads it. After learning from the book, she then surprised Ted by talking to him in sign language. She felt grateful that she can finally understand and talk properly to Ted. They both also got closer because of it. She discovered that Ted likes to read books. During their free time, she always sees Ted reading a book. It does makes sense since there's nothing much to do in this deserted place.
Chip have also found a book about origamis. Chip would find either a piece of paper or an empty notebook to use to make origamis. If he couldn't find any papers, he would take a book he could find and tear the pages to use it. Chip grew an obsession of making origamis, that once you wake up from your sleep, you'll be surrounded with different types of origamis that's laying on the bed and on the floor: birds, flowers, butterflies, boats, and planes. He also thinks that making origamis can make the room less creepy and gloomy, which was thoughtful for him. He doesn't mind leaving the origamis behind whenever they need to leave. He thinks that leaving them can add some decoration around the building even when there's nobody around. Most of the time, Chip, (Y/N), and Ted would throw paper airplanes outside the windows just for fun whenever it doesn't rain.
The three of them spent time together and things went well, that is until the night came. Every night as (Y/N) laid on the bed with her two nome friends asleep, she always asks herself the same questions to sleep. 'How did we end up here? And how is it possible for us to go through the television? Why was there a giant eye when we got teleported here?' After the day of their arrival, (Y/N) started to have this strange dream. And whenever she sleeps, her dreams were all the same.
In her dream, she found herself in a room, but it wasn't just an ordinary room. Everything around her is made out of flesh, just like the ones from where she had been teleported to. There were multiple eyes everywhere, on the wall, the floor, and the ceiling. She was terrified and felt unsettled when she first saw them. She can feel all eyes were on her, including the ones behind her. She doesn't understand. She doesn't understand why this kept happening in her dreams. (Y/N) haven't told either Chip or Ted about it, she didn't want them to worry. But the more she kept having that same dream, the more irritated and confuse she gets. By now, she would rather call it a nightmare, a repetitive one. As each night passed by, she grew more tired of her dream and decided to get some answers.
As the night comes, she didn't hesitate to sleep without her habit of asking questions to herself. She opened her eyes to see herself in the same dream as usual, but it's different from before. Now, there's only a giant eye on the flesh wall in front of her, staring at her. (Y/N) had gain confidence and stared back to the eye.
"Alright, I have enough of this," she snarled towards the eye. "I'm sick and tired of this nonsense. Why are you doing this? Why am I always here in my dreams? Please tell me, I need answers," she begs. But the giant eye kept on staring at her with no answers. The grey hooded girl groaned, "You've got to be kidding me. I came here to expect some answers but all I get is nothing but silence." (Y/N) sat down on the flesh-like floor, pull down her hood and puts her hand over her (h/c) hair. "There's got to be a reason why I'm here. I can't just randomly be here for no reason," she grumbled. She closed her eyes to think. She looked back through her memories to get some hints. 'The television,' an unfamiliar voice told her in her mind, 'Think back from the time where you first encountered one.' (Y/N) wondered through her memories. She has encountered many televisions in this city and they're mostly broken. She didn't bother looking at the non-broken ones that are on, fearing that she might turn into one of those viewers in the city... Except that one-time back from the maw, where at all started.
She remembered seeing the man on the screen back from the maw. The noise it sent out from the television, calling for her. How she got sucked into the television along with Chip and Ted. Her eyes opened and gasped out loud, "It was that man, the man from the television... He was the reason why I'm here. But... why?" While standing up, she can feel the room began to shake and the light inside the room began to flicker. The giant eye closed as the room start to spin. (Y/N) tried to stand still and cover her head with her hands in despair. A few seconds later, it stopped. She felt the room stopped spinning and felt the room's different atmosphere.
(Y/N) opened her eyes to reveal herself in a different area. She's now in a dark, grey hallway. She turned around and sees a tall door far from her. The door has an eye carved into it looking down. She slowly walked towards the door. As she stopped right in front of it, she looked up to the doorknob. She doesn't know if she should open it. Her mind tells her to not open it, fearing of what's behind it. Yet, her heart tells her to open it. What's behind the door is probably the reason why she's here, right? There's only one way to find out...
(Y/N) jumped up and grabbed the doorknob, turning it. As the door slowly opened, she let go of the knob and landed on the floor. She looked up and her (e/c) eyes widened. There in front of her is a tall man, sitting on chair. The man slowly looked up to her and (Y/N) was frozen on her spot. She was petrified to think if she should run away or go closer. Her breathing went heavy and everything around her began to blur. She can feel herself been shaken. A few seconds later, her eyes opened widely, gasp out loud, and quickly sat up.
She took deep breaths and looked around. She's inside a small room. She's on the mattress that's on the floor and next to it is a lamp that is on dimly. She looked beside her to see Ted and Chip, looking at her worryingly. "Wh-What happened?" (Y/N) asked. Ted answered in sign language, 'Me and Chip saw you breathing heavy. We both got worried and thought that you were having a nightmare. So we shook you to wake you up.' (Y/N) looked down as she sat still, closing her eyes and calming herself. She felt someone jump down from the mattress. Few seconds later, the same person who jumped down went back to the mattress and shook her arm softly. (Y/N) looked up and see Chip holding a flower origami in front of her. She smiled softly and took the flower. "Thank you, Chip, Ted," she thanked them both.
