prior to the modern age of electrical technology , there were horses and villagers and sheepskin tambourines with shells making shrilling sounds. there were unusual healing methods and metallic knights and peasant-folk eating fresh mutton for dinner , if they could afford so. and , of course , there were kings and queens and princesses. there were battles and wars and the dead.
