At King's Cross train station, Hazel with her mist magic was able to see an entrance concealed as the barrier between platforms 9 and 10. When the group entered they found themselves at platform 9 3/4. They had some difficulty cutting through the many people that were just there in a giant swarm and Piper had to use charm speak to cut a path through them. There were so many people that they had only hopped onto the train when it started to move.
The group had unanimously agreed that Piper should be the one to knock on the compartment doors to ask for directions. Piper did finally get directions after a while and the group found a train compartment with a small gold plate on the door that said, For Exchange Students Only. They all agreed to only talk in Greek and Latin just in case someone listens in. Hazel could only understand Latin and Piper only knew Greek. The three boys knew both so they translated stuff for the girls.
When Piper got bored of the compartment after not too long, she went out into the corridor and a guy a few years older than her came up to her. He was large, slow, and dumb. He flirted with Piper and even asked her to be his girlfriend. Piper denied his request so he tried to threaten her into it, well, that method didn't work out quite well for him.
While Piper punished the guy, the boy who she met earlier who gave her directions saw her and promptly ran away. She made the weird flirter guy promise to never ask her out again and let him go as his state was so pitiful to the point when it's embarrassingly funny.
After the fat bit of drama that Piper encountered in the hallway. She found herself back in their compartment. Nico had his head leaning against the window asleep, his expression peaceful, almost like an angel. Hazel and his shoulders touched lighted and she had her arm around his shoulder. Hazel's other arm had put a finger to her lips signaling for everyone to be a bit quieter. The little scene of the siblings warmed Piper's heart.
Sure, Eros was the most well know, it was passionate, it was almost like an obsession. Storge love wasn't any less good, or cool or less of a kind of love. Piper felt like Storge was heavily underrated compared to Eros, maybe Eros was even a bit overrated. (Eros in this case means romantic and sexual love, not Cupid, Storge means love for family. Both terms are greek. Sorry for boring you, I like to do my research.)
The two boys were quietly bantering with each other, except it wasn't bantering, it was straight-up trash talking. Piper knew being extra quiet wasn't necessary, Nico could have a Satyr tap dance on his head and still be asleep. But Percy and Jason were very very protective and caring of Nico so Piper didn't argue. She heard firsthand from Jason about how the two boys beat up a girl and a boy from a mortal high school so bad that they were sent to the ER and almost died just because they were bullying Nico or about to and the girl was flirting with Percy. But Piper understood why they were so protective when Jason confessed what he knew about Nico and his past. Piper's reaction was crying, lots of crying, and her sympathy. After all, how could someone so young go through so much pain?
During the train ride, Percy and Jason tried out a wizarding game called Exploding snap. They quickly learned that they were both very very good at the game. They soon became quite competitive over it and their movements sped up the point when their hands were a blur. The poor cards didn't react well to this type of speed and crumbled from all the friction(and awesomeness) deeming them unplayable.
Piper fell asleep on Jason's shoulders and Percy fell asleep against the window. Jason fell asleep with his head on top of Piper's, his glasses askew.
When the time finally came for them to get off, Nico woke up first. When he saw the peaceful sight of all his friend asleep, his heart gave a sharp twinge of pain. He ignored it.
