"Where are Ron and Hermione?" Harry asked as Ginny entered the common room bookbag slung over her shoulders.

"Oh, there they are," Harry said, turn around to the oh-so-familiar sound of the two voices, both engaged in an intense argument.

"Lovebirds, what's Harry's class schedule? The idiot forgot to get one on the way here." Ginny yelled from across the room, breaking the two out of their little moment.

"W-w-well... well" Hermione stuttered nervously, Ron broke into hysterical laugher.

"Well, she forgot," Ron answered for her, Harry and Ginny joined the laugher. Hermione's flushed face was soon transformed to be not the main cause of the glee. Instead, she joined in her voice among the others.

The laughter itself seemed to thrive off the air pushed out of their lungs. Its fuel, never seeming to run out, self-sustaining itself.

The temporary moment of mundane bliss, of simple laugher between close friends and lighthearted bantering.

A few minutes of forgetting about the complications of their troubled lives and just merely living in the moment.

Of children who grew up too fast, who matured too quickly to become once more their naive and younger selves.

The moment had, no cause, no rhythm nor reason. It was simple enjoyment at its finest.

Simple, it was something that these not-anymore children had missed.

The laughing slowly trickled down to nothing as the 4 all heaved for breath. It was time to return to reality again.

"It feels nice to laugh again doesn't it." a new voice entered the group,

"I presume we haven't laughed like this in a while, the kind of hysteric senseless laughter." the voice continued, as a pair of large silver eyes came into view along with the long dirty blond hair and the always dreamy expression. Luna Lovegood came into view, and trailing behind her, was Neville Longbottom, a boy who had changed significantly throughout the years, a boy who had confidence and stride in his steps, who walked now without the ever prominent nervousness and unease.

"Hi!" Ginny waved, and the other three chorus her greeting. Harry gave Neville a quiet smile when the others were distracted. There were some things that these two had in common, that these two alone had in common with eachother that they had slowly come to realize.

Their looks towards eachother contained more words than ones that could be spoken. As the others continued to chatter and chirp together, their conversation was held in silence. The silent understanding between them was something that Harry appreciated.

Ginny was the first to get back on track.

"So... schedule?" she said,

"The eighth years need schedules." she continued, fingering Ron and Hermione's directions loosely.

"You forgot, didn't you?" she said, displaying her ever prominent nack for conveying the ever-so-obvious truths in a situation when others might not see it so clearly or be able to put it into words. And with that, Hermione flushed all over again, Harry had to crack a grin. He didn't have enough air in his lungs to laugh. Not for now, maybe later.

"I got a schedule. I think all eighth years have the same one since there isn't a lot of us." Neville said pulling out a scroll in his hands. The group of 6 all stared down at the individual parchment in his hands.

"How are we going to learn D.A.D.A?" Luna asked, her long pale finger lingering on the black blocky text. The rest of the group didn't know what to answer either. Ron shrugged without a sign of caring, which caused Hermione to slightly scowl. Ginny sensing Hermione's soon-to-be lecture on how they should care more about school and their classes swiftly changed the subject.

"So, do you think the majority of the eighth-year Slytherins are here?" she asked,

"If Draco is here, I'm going t–" Ron stated angrily to be cut off by Harry's annoyed gaze.

"I don't think we should be making enemies this early into the year, too much drama, don't you think?" he said, some of the rest nodded. Ron huffed out of annoyance.

"Oh no! We're extremely late!" Hermione cried, almost jumping out of her shoes, with her expression aghast.

The tense atmosphere was gone replaced by once again cheer and childishness. Harry noticed many people now eyeing them in the room. There surely had to be people staring at them before. But really, he didn't care.

Because right now,

He didn't want to.
