Chapter 8

Harry woke up expecting all of what happened the day before to be a dream. He thought that the train, the castle the feast, and everything else about Hogwarts to be a very nice dream. But when he woke up, he found himself in the Gryffindor dormitory, and in his red and gold four-poster bed. He tried to contain his relief and happiness but a happy "whoop" still escaped.

"Mornin' Arry'," Ron said rubbing his eyes,

"No need to be so loud, even people in Merica' can hear you," he said, blinking the sleep out of his eyes.

"Sorry, I was just happy that I'm back in Hogwarts," Harry said sheepishly as he put on his glasses.

"We should get cleaned up and changed, your Pjs..." Harry said again, eyeing Ron's bright orange Chudley Cannons pajamas. They both went to clean up and change without a word, and when they entered the common room, they spotted Hermione lounging on the plushiest armchair in front of the fireplace reading a large book in her lap. How exactly did she attain this book from the library when they just arrived yesterday night was non of Harry's concern.

"Oh, good morning Harry!" Hermione waved as she jumped up from her chair and put down her book,

"Morning Ron." She said, her tone slightly less cheerful. Ron waved back reluctantly,

"What's for breakfast?" he asked,

"The usual breakfast we have at Hogwarts," Hermione answered as she gingerly put the book into her bookbag.

"Oh," Ron said unsure what else to say as Hermione was already climbing out the portrait hole.

"Well, see you then," she said as her mane of bushy hair disappeared from sight. Ron looked at the spot she disappeared longingly,

Ron looked rather glum as he walked towards the great hall with Harry, His spirits however brightened when he saw the large assortment of food on the table. Ron ran off to grab himself some of everything while Harry stayed behind to find Ginny. Harry hasn't seen Ginny that much these days out of everything that's been going on. Now, come to think about it, He didn't even see her on the train.

But, he didn't have an easier time finding her when crowds of people surrounded him the instant he stepped into the hall. All the eyes were staring at him with rapt attention and he had a very hard time even seeing through the crowd.

Ginny luckily for him found him instead, her bright red hair, brown eyes, and that attitude could catch Harry's attention anywhere. She walked up to him, grabbed his shirt collar, and kissed him on the lips. Many of the girls in the crowd huffed and stomped away. Ginny watched their departure with satisfaction.

"Ginny!" Harry cried pulling her into his embrace.

"Where were you on the train?" he asked after they broke apart,

"I was with Neville and Luna and some of my other friends," she answered gripping onto Harry's hand,

"Oh, I was with Ron and Hermione, we also met Piper, one of the American wizards on the train too," he replied,

"The pretty one?" she asked raising her eyebrows,

"She's got a boyfriend, I also love someone else," he said with a laugh, Ginny frowned with dislike,

"Who else do you like?" she said angrily,

"You, Ginny, you," Harry exclaimed watching Ginny flush. Their little moment was still being watched attentively and it was very uncomfortable. Then, the five came in and everyone turned to them. Harry taking advantage of everyone's preoccupied state and went to sit down with Ron and Hermione. He noticed that his two friends were bickering again and loaded up his plate with everything he liked.

As Harry ate, he noticed the five were wearing regular muggle clothes like T-shirts and pants and they all had different colored backpacks on. They seemed to be talking about something but Harry couldn't hear their words over the loud chattering of all the people. The one who was acting the most casual/Percy without a warning suddenly walked over to the Gryffindor table, the rest followed and they all found a seat. Two of the group seemed to be not able to find a spot by them so they sat somewhere else.

All of a sudden, the owl mail all flew in, the hundreds of different breeds, sizes, and colors all in one swarm. But something glimmering in the swarm caught everyone's eye.

A magnificent eagle with a shining golden beak flew down and landed in front of Percy, who was staring at the owls with a panicked look in his eyes. The owls didn't do anything and just delivered mail as usual. Everyone stared at the 5 strange teens with interest, and Malfoy was eyeing their eagle with jealousy in his eyes. The boy with golden hair or Jason plucked the letter carefully off the owl and said some things to it that Harry didn't understand. Harry didn't really stare any longer after that because he didn't want to seem creepy.

"Hey, Harry?"Ginny asked patting Harry's arm,

"Earth to Harry, the chosen one, the boy who lived?" She said a bit louder,

"Oh hey Ginny, what?" Harry said, jolting out of his thoughts,

"Breakfast is over, we have classes," Ginny said standing up, her hair swooshing around her shoulders. Harry stood up and followed her towards their common room together.

"What do you have for classes?" he asked,

"Well, I have Arithmancy, Ancient Ruins, and Charms this morning," answered Ginny,

"What about you?" she continued,

"Well, I don't know yet, I just know that this will be a bloody hell of a ride," he said lacing his fingers through hers,

"It sure will," she said, tossing her hair around her shoulders again. Ginny at that moment was the most beautiful girl Harry has ever seen. He seemed to only have eyes for her, no one else.

"I'm the luckiest guy in the world." he thought as he allowed Ginny to drag him to their common rooms.
