Villains And Heroes

I have always wanted to be the bad guy, the one who schemes and plots the downfall of their foes

But I never felt like I could be

Always thinking I'm not fast enough to think three steps ahead, never clever enough to best the heroes

But the Lord knows how I craved the role.

Then it hit me, one warm winter night as I lay in bed.

I was always the villain.

I could never have been the hero.

I will never know the glory of slaying my enemies

For the enemy is myself.
