Though it can be cold and unkind, the darkness can also be a comfort, a reprieve, from all the overwhelming brightness of life.
Just as light can be warm and safe, it can be harsh and burning, leaving you exposed and raw, seeking the cover of the darkness and its world free of judgement, for everything looks the same in the dark.
The two coexist for without the other we would be unbalanced and therefore merely a part of a whole.
